In the NCWTS once you use a PC provisional, that driver and team must attempt four races before getting to use another one. Kvapil used one at Daytona. Then only attempted Atlanta. So if he attempts Pocono and Michigan he will have one by Bristol. Classic move by these folks. 6. Mannoroth posted: 07.24.2018 - 12:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This race is Kyle Busch's last chance to tie Ron Hornaday, Jr. this season. And his another chance to be the first driver to sweep races at Pocono during the weekend. Along with Atlanta, Kentucky and Homestead, no one has done it. Unfortunately, I would bet he ends his 2018 Truck season with just one win in 5 starts. Despite being one of the best cars in Cup, he isn't that dominant in lower series, which is the opposite from previous seasons, where it was always the lower series, where he won the most races. Anyway, let's see how it turns out... and can't wait for the next season. :) 7. While it is a great and exciting track, this track puts a lot of wear on the equipment (my hypothesis of only 32 trucks entered). But I'm looking forward to see who pilots the #34 and #74 I hope Jeffery Abbey pilots the #34 8. Watching Kyle Busch cut through the field and then just barely fail to win due to a crash was also exhilarating. Plus, this is one of the fastest races they go to, and watching the cars fly past in a blink of an eye is heart-stopping So yes, and exciting race. 10. I liked how it allowed pretty much any car to legitimately compete for the win. In the current plate racing package, there are still ~5 cars that don't have a shot because they can't stay with the draft, and another 10-20 that don't have a shot to win because their cars aren't strong enough, but they can challenge for top 10s or occasionally top 5s. 18. I've never been a fan of Pocono being added to the truck schedule in 2010. The trucks have a slow top end speed and as you can see only 32 trucks start spread out by seven seconds a lap. It will only take three green flag laps before the majority of the field spreads out all over the triangle. And to boot, why only 150 miles? Does NASCAR also think trucks at Pocono lack excitement and just want the race to be over with? If you are going to make the truck series run Pocono at least make it 80 laps - 200 miles so that the race takes longer than 70 minutes to run. 52. "Fans" like you will NEVER understand the amount of hard work and determination it takes just to get a truck to the track! According to D.J Copp (an underfunded underdog owner) it costs over 10-15K extra to run a truck from a Start and Park effort to full time. NOT EVERY TEAM CAN AFFORD THAT! If we went to that bogus idea of small fields, we would never see the likes of Chris Buescher nab a win, we would have never saw Regan Smith capture the flag at Darlington. WE WOULD HAVE NEVER SAW NORM BENNING FIGHT HIS WAY INTO ELDORA! Every single truck and XFINITY and Cup entry are quality rides, they costs thousands. When you think about it, after running a 2.5 mile track, you were just 3 seconds (three snaps of a finger!) from a ride that has 10x the equipment you do. THATS NOT THAT BAD! And going back to whether or not they should even show up, not everyone is shooting for 1st place! For some teams, simply qualifying is a win for them. Getting sponsors are a win for them. Years ago, FRR and the #78 had problems even qualifying for the field! Could you imagine if they decided to not just "show up"? They would have never been NASCAR champions! Maybe you should put yourself in their shoes and see what it's like for them before babbling such rubbish 57. I think he drives Cup for another 12 years or so, let's say until the end of the 2030 season (when he's 45.) Assuming he wins 5-10 races most years in Cup from here on out (which is definitely possible considering his potential competition and his recent uptick in performance), he could easily surpass Pearson for 2nd on the all-time list and win 3 or more championships. Then, he could move to the trucks for 5-10 years. If he runs 5 races each year for the next 12 years and wins 2-3 of them (a conservative estimate), that would give him around 80 victories by the time he moves to Trucks full-time in 2031. If he raced there for 5 years, he'd just have to win 4 (of 23) races per year to get to 100.) I think it could easily happen, if he wants it to happen. 82.
