First appearance on the truck entry list for On Point Motorsports (#30), and CR7 Motorsports (#9). Two part-time ARCA drivers attempting to make their truck debut, Codie Rohrbaugh and Stefan Parsons. Chad Finley's first race back since his impressive 6th at Gateway. Parker Kligerman, Timothy Peters, and Jesse Little are other part-time teams entered that could Compete for a Top 5, maybe even a win. 2. Got a feeling a lot of these new teams will bring enough speed to qualify, meaning JJC Norm and Mittler teams may be going home. 5. Yeet posted: 08.14.2018 - 12:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) @3 haha me However, in all fairness, we wouldn't get 36+ at Michigan or Pocono. Bristol is an exception because short tracks are the great equalizer of motorsports. If NASCAR went to short tracks more frequently, hell yeah we'd get 36+ With newer entries having to qualify on speed, they have to crack Top 27, not top 32. For debut teams, those aren't good odds. 36 entries however wwill you decide Top 32 on speed. Those are somewhat better odds. TJL Motorsports doesn't have a very fast #1, and they're just waiting for smaller fields to try and crack the whip and race, 32 entries over 36 doesn't help that 6. It comes down to how many part time teams can break 27th place. If a wave of them qualifies on time and sends Justin Fontaine and Jordan Anderson to provisionaland, provisional spots will run out after #15/Parsons. Parsons is the last truck I deem as safe. Gray Gaulding is allowed to run up to 5 truck events as a Cup competitor. The same rule that applies to Kyle Busch who has already run 5 Truck events. This was outlined at the beginning of the season and NASCAR has changed nothing. 38. Gray can enter this race, since it's one of his 5 races he can do and this is not a Playoff race. So the other rule doesn't apply here. If he tries to run next week, that rule will apply. Unless, like someone previously mentioned he forfeits his cup points and switches series. Like Corey Lajoie and Ryan Sieg have done before. 46. I think tonight's race will be fantastic because a chunky 37 truck field showed up with the top 33 trucks only separated by eight-tenths (0.8) of a second. I don't see how there are any favorites in a field this tight. Especially on a short track where a talented driver can outperform their equipment. However, I probably won't be watching live tonight. The Little League World Series has started and I'm more interested in that than the race. So the race goes on DVR and I'll catch up on it this weekend.
