We will have at least 32. Hopefully a 33rd so we can at least weed out one slower truck in qualifying. Is the Little Team really running Reuse themselves? Or did Mike Harmon get his hands on more owners points? 8. JFM01 posted: 08.21.2018 - 1:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The 38 was a late entry last week as well. I may want this just because I would like to see two other drivers (Kunz and Iwuji) making their first start in Nascar national series, even if they can be S&P. If Joe does not withdraw this truck, one of the them will go home. 10. Also, Kunz's truck is sponsored by Liqui-Moly, which is not a sponsor I've seen on Cobb's trucks before. Hopefully this means they have sponsorship to run the whole event! Jesse Iwuji is an interesting read, seeing he's running the S&P #34. I haven't ever heard or witnessed a race where Iwuji Start and Parked, so we'll see. I just hope he doesn't crash that small team's equipment. Awesome to see Jason White in here, even if it's not the one everyone thinks it was lol Kinda sucks to not see the #83 or #63, I wonder if they're going to make an entry. I expect to see Victor Gonzalez Jr. in the #38 as well, which should be a good effort since the #38 showed a ton of speed at Bristol (It obviously helped with Ross behind the wheel but still) Didn't expect Harmon to show up, I hoped he would focus more on his XFINITY effort Overjoyed to see Kennington on here, and also glad they didn't kick Chavous to the curb as well for this race. I hope we fill the field, but ONLY 32. Every truck that makes the drive to Canada to race the only road course on the schedule (meaning a lot of smaller teams most likely don't have that much road course equipment), having to drive all the way up to Canada in a truck that doesn't race is a financial (and emotional and physical) disaster. 32. JR-TV posted: 08.24.2018 - 7:45 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) ^This is awesome to see Timothy Peters get a ride in the GMS #25 Chevrolet truck. He is my favorite truck driver when he's out there and it's so cool to see him get to climb back behind the wheel of a truck capable of winning. And it's a Chevrolet! It was awful having to watch him DNQ last week at Bristol in the #92 Ford. I just hope he can get more than one race in the #25 truck. He is an interesting choice for Mosport because he is not known as a road racer and hasn't finished better than 8th there in the past. So I don't expect much. A top-10 would be great. But if he gets to race than truck at Las Vegas, Talladega, Martinsville, etc., he could absolutely park it in victory lane. 49. I know from listening to her scanner from Chicago, Pocono and Michigan that they lacked practice because of not having spare parts on hand or having several tedious issues (ride height adjustments, unexplained vibrations, ovetheating, lack of horsepower - they have an old ARCA Ilmor but are running 600-800 HP less than expected.) Now no practice today. Probably should have swapped drivers so Kunz could score the #10 more owner points. And Norm did much better than I thought. He really tries to make up equipment gaps at Eldora & CTMP. 68. Mbenoit posted: 08.25.2018 - 6:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Qualifying on rain tires! 69. ThatGuy posted: 08.27.2018 - 1:21 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) After waiting a few hours, rewatching and taking many things into consideration, I've got some form of opinion. #1, if the championship standings weren't under this "win and you advance" format, I doubt Noah make that move on Todd. That's your teammate, going for his first win, he may not have dominated like you did (led 35 of the first 45, won stages 1 & 2) but if that last caution hadn't come out, you probably have no chance (unless Todd overdrives a corner or two). Also, I think this is just a very, very unfortunate incident. I think if either driver had been more conservative (Todd leaves Noah a lane, Noah doesn't dive in) then it could've been clean like Blaney/Quiroga 2014. But, it's the last lap, Todd's going for win #1, Noah is trying to lock himself into the next round. But after rewatching it, this reminds me more of Ty Dillon/Chase Elliott than Cindric/Grala or Nemechek/Custer. It might not have been the best or cleanest move, but he was there when Todd turned right. Todd left the lane open for not even a second, which probably had to do with his racing line, not necessarily setting up to block Gragson 138. Greg posted: 08.27.2018 - 11:25 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Another last-lap crash for the win at Mosport? Sheesh.. this is getting so predictable it's definitely not exciting anymore. These guys ought to know better, if you're leading at white flag at Mosport, you will be wrecked the hell out! 139. joey2448 posted: 08.28.2018 - 6:28 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) This makes 5 of 6 years this race has been run that we've seen a last-lap incident between the leaders, and four of those five occurred on the final turn. What is the deal? Anyway, my take is this. While Gragson should've shown more restraint in attempting the pass (i.e. Blaney on Quiroga 2014), I do think Gilliland should've given him a lane (nothing too much, just enough space to let him screw himself if that's what he wants). I mean, the history of that corner at this race, plus Gragson's own history of racing rough, Todd had to expect he would try something. Besides, Noah was already there at his door. Gilliland made the wrong move to turn in because Gragson already had the inside on him, and so Gilliland basically wrecked himself. 140. joey2448 posted: 08.28.2018 - 6:33 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Also, I'm pretty sure you can add Harrison Burton being involved in the last-run chaos. I think Burton was the white truck that spun around with Enfinger as Gilliland was taking off from the accident scene. Looks like Burton spun a 360 and kept going without losing too much speed, while Enfinger got the short end and hit the rear of Gilliland. 141. JeffBurton99 posted: 08.28.2018 - 7:43 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @140 Or..Gragson did what Gragson does and goes Kamikazee tryin to get the win. I like Gragson i think he could be successful in Cup in a few years but ive seen him take himself and others out Multiple times now trying these moves. Its not that he doesnt have the skill to pull it off its that hes still learning and has no regard for the outcome. He looked like he was gonna cry with all those KBM guys yelling at himbpost race including his Crew cheif from last year. At any rate the show goes on. Gilliland will run for the championship next year in the r truck while gragson prolly takes over Bells 18 xfinity ride 142. JSPorts posted: 08.28.2018 - 8:38 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree, that's on Gragson. He wasn't at Gilliland's door, he just sent it into the final corner without slowing down much, which doesn't give you position on a guy. Todd had every right to be upset. 143. Canadianfan posted: 08.28.2018 - 10:29 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @139 You can draft the leader up the backstretch which itself is uphill. Also the final corner White's is far tighter than it looks giving the 2nd place driver false hope that he can make the late braking maneuver work. 144. joey2448 posted: 08.28.2018 - 3:27 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ok maybe I'm wrong, but I know Gragson was at Gilliland's door before Todd turned in. I wonder why racing-reference doesn't post the playoff standings in the form I am posting here instead of having the total point standings and standings without a playoff system. Last time I checked NASCAR.com does the same thing as racing-reference. Does anyone know how NASCAR does tie breakers? I remember it used to be who has the most wins, if same then most 2nd place finishes, if same then most 3rd place finishes etc but I remember a few years back they said they were going to change it to a system that reflected best finishes in the current round of the playoff system. I haven't been following NASCAR for the last year so I'm not sure what the current system is. If I was NASCAR my tie breaker would be who ever finished in a higher position at the last race wins the tie breaker. It's a lot simpler system. I'm giving Stewart Friesen the tie breaker here because he has more second place finishes. 1. Justin Haley ADVANCES 2. Johnny Sauter +35 3. Brett Moffitt +29 4. Noah Gragson +24 5.
