Him and his brother have brought a truck from Harmon and with Harmons help they have prepared it for this race. Doubt they'll make it on speed but who knows.. 8. I know he missed the first 8, but Ross was just kinda filling a seat for the first 8 until he declared to run. Plus it was announced that Biffle would be running that race back in March. I mean it doesn't matter, if he gets back in a truck this year, I'm sure it won't be often enough to get to the top 20 19. Chandler Smith is probably going to be a very good NASCAR driver someday, and while lots of people are going to go all ga-ga when he wins ("wins", hell - try "dominates") today in his first start barring a mistake or getting caught in someone else's mess, let's not put him in the Hall of Fame just yet after 1 race in equipment twice as good as any other in the field. I'd say "let's see what he can do in ordinary equipment" but that's been said about Christopher Bell for a few years now and the fact remains that Bell's never been IN anything resembling mere ordinary equipment, and he may never be. Could be the same thing ends up applying to Chandler Smith as well. 70. Currently, we have Grant Enfinger with a large point lead, and 4 other drivers (Crafton, Friesen, Rhodes, and Moffitt) who are all very close together in points. As of now, those 5 drivers plus winners Hill, Sauter, and Chastain would make the playoffs. There have been a few others where "crash damage" was eventually accepted as a reason for being outside the measurements. That said, in recent times (i.e. this century) NASCAR has been pretty consistant that once they deem something a violation they won't change their ruling, regardless of how trivial or even counter-productive the violation is. There are more than two, noob. 212/Ed- Intent is almost impossible to prove, and teams almost always declare their innocence when something illegal is found with the cars. It would open the door to charges that NASCAR plays favorites with certain teams & drivers, and that is what they want to avoid. There is an appeal panel, so the penalty could be reduced, but in any case the win won't be given back to Chastain. I feel bad for him and hope he has future success, but it really needs to be that way. 214. This dropped him to second behind Davey Allison. He was never declared the winner. Its the same situation with Robby Gordon in Montreal, and similar to the Yellow line rule that cost Regan Smith and Justin Haley wins. They may have crossed the line first but they weren't declared the winner. 217. Honestly they shouldn't give away any stage points with these penalties. It doesn't look right how they have them arranged after Ross' DQ. Regardless this would be Ross' first time finishing outside the Top 10 in the Truck Series in 2019... shame how that streak came to an end. He will win again. 218. In April, 1999 Mike Skinner won at Atlanta in the xFinity (Busch Series at the time) and then had the win stripped for an issue with a part in the engine. After appeal, Skinner got the win back. Here's a link to the race on here: https://www.racing-reference.info/race/1999_Yellow_Freight_300/B 227. I found out the win was being stripped on espns site, thats the first nascar article i can recall seeing on their main page in quite some time and it does no favors for nascar towards the casual sports fan. They say all publicity is good publicity but not one that leads people to scoff at the sport anymore. Also the other headline is that sauter is likely to be suspended. No ones gonna argue these headlines are good for the sport. 228. Chase9Fan posted: 06.17.2019 - 9:24 am Rate this comment: (0) (2) I put the Sauter/Hill issue on Hill's shoulders. Sauter got into him, moved him but didn't wreck him, then Hill comes and spins him intentionally. Sauter then spins Hill under caution to get parked, which he shouldn't have done, but post race Hill is all about how he doesn't race like that, well moving is racing. That is my opinion on it. 229. And I was wondering why Ross Chastain is suddenly so strong and is able to dominate. We now know the answer - because his truck was too low on one side and that is the most typical reason why some car didn't pass post-race inspection. On the other hand, Chastain will have plenty of chances before the playoffs, so this little "clusterf*ck" doesn't really matter. And if I remember correctly, this DSQ is the first one since Dale Jarrett, who was DSQed in 1995 after the Xfinity race at Michigan. 234. We see other parts and pieces fail during races so it wouldn't surprise me if a suspension piece on the 44 failed during the race. This would be how they could pass pre-race but not post-race. 239. Still, he would have points in the negative for this race in total. Now, that's bad. Now focusing on Johnny Sauter. While there is a chance that he may be suspended for at least 1 race, I have some doubts that it would happen, and that he'd be off scot-free. The latter I don't want to happen because of what Sauter did to Austin Hill is definitely wrong. I hope that the NASCAR organization does punish him with a suspension and a playoff ban for 2019 (A suspension and a waiver is likely what will be given to Sauter because, well, he's Johnny Freaking Sauter) (End of analysis) P.S. I am still laughing because Sauter failed to DNF Hill with his stupid move. Anyways, I apologize if laughing at that is uncalled for. 241. I think people are forgetting that NASCAR doesn't here the appeal themselves. This isn't the NFL. An independent panel will here the Niece's appeal and they will decide whether to uphold the penalties or rescind them. A disqualified winner has earned it back before. This happened in the 1999 Busch Atlanta race with Mike Skinner. Originally disqualified, his win was reinstated after a successful appeal. 244. Ultimately it never came to pass as Biffle would not have been entered to run this race in time to be eligible for the prize and with four Toyota Tundras already entered in this race (#4, #18, #46, #51) KBM determined they would probably be stretched too thin to impulsively enter a fifth truck competitively anyway. Biffle's ride at Texas was always intended to be a one-off. 248. Rich posted: 12.23.2020 - 6:56 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Vince Welch, Phil Parsons and Michael Waltrip were the commentators.
