I know he only has 2 this year, but tonight would've been 3, same time frame as when he started piling them on in 2018. @79 Let me just clarify, the only thing I have against Ankrum is he's had to start & park multiple races, and last check to my knowledge doesn't have sponsorship for the playoff races. Plus Austin Hill winning Daytona (where it's all luck) takes another playoff spot. Hill is 7th in regular points, probably would be 8th if it wasn't for Sauter's suspension and all the bad luck he's had, Hill is a considerable amount behind 6th, yet 5th place Harrison Burton is on the outside looking in. I didn't mind Ross getting in by winning and getting into the top 20 because if he was collecting points from the start he'd be 6th right now (1st if he passed post race at Iowa). I guess I'm disappointed that with 3 races to go, where anything can happen, Grant Enfinger, Stewart Friesen. Matt Crafton, Harrison Burton, Todd Gilliland and Sheldon Creed are in jeopardy of missing the playoffs depending on the 3 upcoming race winners 111. And of those guys, Stewart would be the most likely winner, given that he has finished 2nd and 3rd the previous two races there. Yes Briscoe is a good prediction and can definitely not be counted out. Sheldon on the other hand, I don't know what to think. 114. I thought I heard something about the regular season champion also gets into the playoffs even if he has no victories. We could possibly get 8 winners, yet none of them win the regular season championship. I would assume then that the lowest guy in points with one victory would get the boot. Currently thats Chastain who is 90 points back from Ankrum. The only three guys between them who are eligible for the playoffs are Gus Dean, Jordan Anderson and Spencer Boyd. They have a combined 1 Top5 and 1 Top 10 between them, so its highly unlikely that they'll win a race this year. 119. 34McDowellFan posted: 07.11.2019 - 11:27 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #11 was a Toyota 120. Mile501 posted: 07.12.2019 - 5:00 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @118 - I made a similar comment on a different race thread a few weeks ago. I believe you are correct. The best thing Chastain can do is try to win again (or hope for another repeat winner), in which case he'll be fine. Or if someone like Chase Briscoe were to win at Eldora, that would help him out as well. There is also a slim possibility that Chastain could pass Ankrum in points, though it is unlikely. But should we have 3 more different winners among drivers running for truck points, and none of them is the points leader, Chastain would unfortunately miss the playoffs, which I think would be heartbreaking. What a weird season it's been in trucks, where your race winners currently rank 3rd, 7th, 10th, 12th, and 18th in points. The top 6 drivers in points have combined to earn 58% of the top 5 finishes this season, yet only one of them has found victory lane. 124. p30le posted: 07.12.2019 - 5:23 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Brennan Poole led one lap. 125. Just imagine Crafton, Freisen, Rhodes, Burton or Gilliland pick any 3 combo wins the next 3 races. Enfinger leading the points could miss the playoffs? Or is there a hidden rule that the regular season champion automatically gets in? 126. James posted: 07.12.2019 - 9:59 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Congrats to Ankrum! This is why, for example, if Enfinger stays in the points lead, and Crafton, Burton, and Friesen win the next 3 races (very possible), Chastain still misses the playoffs. 129. Scott25 posted: 07.12.2019 - 11:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) As was completely missed on the FOX broadcast, Poole was racing Rhodes unnecessarily hard while he was a lap down and Rhodes was in second place, blocking Rhodes, and they ended up going into the turn 3 wall together, which cost Rhodes a good finish and a bunch of points he desperately needed. Rhodes tried to fight Poole multiple times on pit road afterwards (see Pockrass? Twitter), as he should. The very definition of ?damn lapped cars? (or trucks). 130. Corey posted: 07.12.2019 - 12:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @127 Chastain missing despite the win is a situation that could come up, however, I don't think it will. All we need is fore either a previous winner to win again, Enfinger (or Friesen) to win a race and the regular season or an ineligible driver to win a race. I just want people to keep in mind that Chastain isn't guaranteed until one of those three things happen. The only other option would be for Dean, Anderson or Boyd to win a race, but Chastain passes them in points. I don't think he'll get to Ankrum, considering that Chastain has only made up 34 points on Ankrum since Chastain started scoring. Ankrum is currently 90 points ahead. 131. So the top three drivers listedhave the name of the first three crew chiefs listed. Now y'all know the issue with Wiki today 144.
