It's just a very taxing track on the trucks and a lot of the teams don't have a truck that is suitable to run this track. Michigan is the same way but both races still put on a good show. Awesome to see the FDNY Racing 28 back again. 10. ThatGuy posted: 07.23.2019 - 2:37 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @9 I thought of that when I only saw 31 entrants. Fast track, 3 corners, different lengths, bankings everywhere. But it's only 150 miles, 60 laps, I'd hope someone would come out and turn at least a few laps just to fill the field, collect a little money and pick up a few points 11. 11darknight10 posted: 07.23.2019 - 6:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Seeing as Currey will race here and Michigan, I think Ruch has been fired/quit 12. 34McDowellFan posted: 07.23.2019 - 10:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mrakovich has a sponsor listed, maybe he'll run the full race? Scott25 posted: 07.26.2019 - 6:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @22 it is great. The truck series is definitely the best of the top 3 for paint schemes currently. Cup and Xfinity have been stuck in ?some combination of red, white, blue and/or black? doldrums for the last few years, and the trend to make non-solid coloured schemes/wraps matte all over needs to die (I think Ganassi started it). Matte only works when it's predominantly one colour, like Rhodes' Havoline Truck. 24. Shell, et al, got around that by actually promoting their motor oils, anti-freeze, etc (as Mobil does today). When Robert Yates had the Havoline sponsorship the name "Texaco" did not appear on the car. In this case, I assume NASCAR determined that the oil brand was "Havoline" not "Chevron" and told the team what to put on the car (it is NASCAR that approves paint schemes, not their sponsors, altho of course NASCAR is very aware of who's paying the bills). 28. Congrats to Chastain on his 3rd win of the season (and 2nd since he started running for truck points). Assuming he passes inspection, he has now securely locked up his place in the playoffs with this second win. Congrats to Natalie Decker for her first career lead-lap finish in a NASCAR race. So far this season, she has been running at the finish in 50% of the truck races and she has had crash DNFs in the other 50%. With 3 3rd-place finishes in the last 5 races, Harrison Burton has moved closer to perhaps making the playoffs on points, which seemed nearly impossible a couple of months ago. He is now just 13 points behind Friesen for the final spot. 56. He was the only driver in the series to have scored stage points in every race prior to this race. He now joins Moffitt, Rhodes, Burton, and Crafton as the only drivers to have scored Stage Points in all but 1 race so far this year. -This is the first race of the season that Gus Dean has scored stage points. Prior to today he was the only driver to start every race and not have any stage points. -Grant Enfinger leads the series in Stage Points by a significant margin. He has 40 more stage points than 2nd place Brett Moffitt. Stage Points are likely going to be the difference toward him winning the regular season point bonus. -For those wondering, Ross Chastain is 5th in stage points. This includes the races in which he wasn't actually running for points, as I've included them in the calculation. -Harrison Burton scored the most stage points in a race for the first time this season. What is interesting about this is that there are still only 2 drivers that have scored the most stage points in a race more than once (Grant Enfinger with 5 and Kyle Busch with 3). 80. I remember an interview with Kyle Busch and Dale Jr. talking about running dirt, and it was indicated that the teams take a loss to run Eldora. That's why Kyle never brings the 46 despite many capable drivers available to run it for him. It is why DGR-Crosley is not running the 5 or 15, and Nemechek is not running the 87, among others. The racing is great, but it is so cost prohibitive that teams are losing interest. 85. Note: I am not talking about his normal watermelon smash that he usually does when he wins a race. Before he smashed the melon, someone gave him a big watermelon beach ball and then goes into the stands and STARTS PLAYING WITH THE FANS! For this year I believe this was the only original celebration that happened this year for all 3 series. I mean giving the checkered flag to a young fan can make a memory, but only one kid can get it. For this, it was MULTIPLE people of ALL ages making memories with a driver after the finish. I have NEVER seen this kind of celebration. 93. Rich posted: 12.23.2020 - 6:56 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Vince Welch, Phil Parsons and Michael Waltrip were the commentators.
