Call it a hunch, but the Xfinity race is the least likely for all of the above (it'll probably be a Busch-Bell-Jones Toyotathon with Joey Logano looking to pull off the upset - as if a Logano Xfinity series win is such a desirable outcome either). But since it IS Bristol and theoretically close quarters racing, there is a chance that the heavy favorites will encounter a little resistance just by accident. 8. This is in all due respect to Benning, but it's getting harder and harder to depict which drivers will likely head home. I know Lou is a short track racer but I don't know if old Mike Harmon equipment will get them ahead of 9+ trucks. Cobb and the 34 are ahead of 11 trucks in the field on Owner Points so it would take a crazy qualifying session to bump them from the field. He won Bristol last year, he's won at Vegas and has 5 straight top 10s there with 2 of those being runner up finishes. The big question is Canada, he's said it (along with Eldora) is one of his worst tracks, he's never finished top 5 there in 6 starts. However, he has only finished worse than 8th 1 time: 2013, the first one, due to a parts failure. In his last 4 starts at Canada he has one 7th, and three 6th place finishes 34. I'm not sure why they thought moving up to Trucks was a good idea when he couldn't put together a whole ARCA race, as Rohrbaugh now trails only Norm Benning in DNQs this season. Now I'm sure Codie and his grandfather didn't expect to crash out or fail to qualify pretty much every week, but I think anyone who watched him race enough in the lower levels wouldn't have made a prediction too far from that. 52. Roper's team constantly runs Top 20 and has great qualifying efforts (i.e 5th at Vegas and 7th at Charlotte) they just had issues today and missed it. In a long season like NASCAR has you're not always going to be 100% 24/7, and just because you slip up every once in a while doesn't mean you're not a good team. 62.
