DibenedettoShallRise posted: 08.20.2019 - 9:28 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Wonder how the finish is going to be this year. We have gone from Elliott dumping Ty Dillon, to a clean but Amazing finish between Ryan Blaney and German Quiroga, to the last lap battle between Jones and Tags, and Jones getting the win, to John Hunter Nemechek shoving Cole Custer up against the wall to win, to Austin Cindric dumping Kaz Grala on the last lap, and then last year, Teammates Noah Gragson and Todd Gilliland spinning each other out and Justin Haley comes clutch. I think we're in for another great finish this year, yet again. 3. He's never had top equipment in when racing in the Top 3 series. 9. og69nova posted: 08.20.2019 - 1:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @7 I think that order is somewhat correct, although i could see klutt jumping ahead of friesen and lessard. Not sure how good a road racer he is, but I expect him to get run great at his home track, even though I don't want him to 11. I've looked at each of the five races that ended with last-lap drama, and noticed that only two of those races ended with a two-lap GWC finish. The other three featured the final restart coming with 5, 8 and 9 laps to go. So as far as what it is that produces those crazy finishes, I'm at a loss of words. It says he wasn't arrested, seemingly indicated he was turned away at the border and likely received a citation at the border and released without being allowed to enter Canada. This is all unconfirmed though so keep that in mind. I'm not sure what he would have been smuggling across the border if it is true, because weed is legal in Canada so just stop and buy some after you cross lol. Another rumor floating around is that it was due to something he said on Twitter, but I think that one is obviously false because his Twitter account has been suspended for over a month after it was hacked. 48. Canadianfan posted: 08.24.2019 - 11:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @47 If that is indeed true. From the Government of Canada website. ?Cannabis is now legal in Canada. However, the legalization of cannabis in Canada does not change Canada's border rules. Taking cannabis or any product containing cannabis into Canada is illegal and can result in serious criminal penalties both at home and abroad. This is the case even if you are travelling from places that have legalized or decriminalized cannabis. Transporting cannabis used for medical purposes is also illegal. Travellers entering Canada can contribute to a smooth border crossing by understanding and complying with their obligations at the Canadian border. It is illegal to bring cannabis into Canada. If you do have cannabis or products containing cannabis with you when you enter Canada, you must declare them to the Canada Border Services Agency. If you do not declare cannabis products when you enter Canada, you can face enforcement action, including arrest and prosecution.? 50. Anon posted: 08.25.2019 - 1:31 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Right, so why even risk it? Cross the border safely, then go buy what you want when in the country, just don't bring any back with you after the weekend. Thousands of Americans that live near the border do this weekly, so if this is what really happened, Dippel is just an idiot and really should be fired. Obviously we still don't know if this is true so I'm still withholding judgment, but if this happened to me at my job where I missed an international event by getting stopped at the border and charged with something, I'd be fired. Dippel has already been let go once before due to conduct before the end of a season, so the guy may be on his last strike as far as a driving career in NASCAR goes at this point. 51. You only seem to watch NASCAR, and not bother with IndyCar, Formula One, etc. So in other words, you are essentially a NASCAR fan. It is unrealistic to expect an exciting finish every week. It is a bonus you must be patience for. You do not have the skill of patience. Whining about a race every week also doesn't help your case, no one here think of you seriously to be a race fan. You were "ruined" by Kevin Harvick winning and beating Denny Hamlin in an intense ending at the Cup New Hampshire race for example, and not the finish itself. That is hardly a race fan entertained by racing, just someone who needs to find a reason to hate and seek attention because you lived a miserable life apparently (which sadly, is pretty obvious). You once mentioned you didn't have cable, thus having no job, so how are you even watching the race in the first place? Live leaderboard doesn't count I have the racing cancer like joey2448 and others here does. So maybe I am cancer. 101. Kevin Harvick has the highest likeness on that scale so if you want to claim he's my current favorite, by all means. I enjoy seeing history records made and broken, watching stats of all drivers and the racing itself. I personally don't care if Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, Matt DiBenedetto, Josh Bilicki, Brandon Jones or Natalie Decker wins a Cup race. I appreciate the risk and competition they provide for us on any given week because that is the lives they've chosen and mostly enjoy. Unless the driver has an absolutely garbage background (aka Santino Ferrucci in IndyCar) then I'd be a little disappointed, but it is what it is. I do feel wanting certain drivers to win championships (aka Denny Hamlin this year), however I won't get "pissed" and hate the world if he doesn't and it's Joey Logano again back to back. That just simply make you a "driver's fan," more than a race fan itself. There's a difference. 106. Anonymous posted: 08.25.2019 - 5:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Overall a pretty dull race IMO. That's a good thing as it will actually make the exciting ones memorable. It works for F1 and IndyCar. A few exciting races sprinkled around the more processional affairs. And exactly what do you want NASCAR to change? They've made many changes over the years that fans have both praised and voiced their displeasure, and we still get runaway victories like today. If you have suggestions, offer them up. Your whining means nothing if you fail to provide an alternative to make it better. 108. Sure Moffitt was head and shoulders above everyone else, the rest of the field produced good racing all day long. And the drivers had to actually drive and not just ride around flat out in line all day like a lot of Cup races this year. Come to think of it, the Sonoma Cup race was far worse than this as well. Now THAT was what a bad road course race looked like. 110. Hi posted: 08.25.2019 - 7:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The 54 got a top 10. And it didn't wreck. Exhibit A of why Raphael Lessard should have a full time ride. The scary thing is if we go back to last year the 54 was the main truck. 111. My family and I don't have cable, satellite, or anything, just because we don't want our lives to be centered on TV, and because that money can be better used elsewhere. It's not necessarily an indication of whether or not someone is employed. 112. Sector posted: 08.25.2019 - 8:26 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #111 I personally don't know anyone who uses cable. I know some people are old school, or are generally poor, that it's all they have. I don't have cable specifically because it's so 1990, and I love having the most expensive toys. Having a PS4, Xbox One, Switch, iPad, Apple 4KTV and iPad defeats the purpose of having cable with the amount of entertainment value I have, period. Regardless, that's not what I'm getting at. I'm going off based on what he said; #136 from the Xfinity's Bristol comment section. Instead of continuing this discussion I'll "try" to assist him instead. A few weeks ago Enfinger had a huge lead, now he only leads Moffitt by 13 stage points on the season. Chastain has vaulted up to 3rd overall. -Brett Moffitt has just taken the overall lead for most non-stage points scored this season. Look at how great the battle would be if there was no such thing as stage racing or playoffs: Brett Moffitt 534 Matt Crafton 532 Grant Enfinger 527 Stewart Friesen 516 I don't know where Chastain would be in this as he has a 0 for the first 8 races in my spreadsheet. I'll calculate that out this evening and see where he would fall. Regardless, it seems to me that we don't need playoffs, or even stage racing, in the truck series to have an amazing championship battle. 114. Ankrum is another 12 points back in eighth and may be looking at a must win situation to advance, but he did win at the 1.5 mile Kentucky to get in the playoffs. Chastain has a little bit of breathing room in second, I think he'll go for stage points early at Vegas. Moffitt is in the next round of course, but aside from him and Chastain, these guys are going to have to race hard and smart to avoid elimination. 115. Hey, it worked great for 21 years, often coming down to the last race--but obviously NASCAR decided that we needed something "more exciting." 116. Should make for an exciting night in Sin City. Gotta give a few atta boys to Raphael Lessard for rebounding from his spin to score his 2nd career top 10, Klutt for bringing the 44 truck in a clean and solid p12, and Jordan Anderson for repairing his truck and managing to bring it home p16, that man never quits. The 7 I heard might come back because Forrister broke his ankle which is why they stopped racing for a while. The 97, 9, 49, and 42 might be entered. Robby Lyons on twitter told me that he's locking down the last few races of the year. The 11 and 68 might be because they both have trucks for Vegas. I don't know I just have that feeling that there are going to be a lot of entries. Maybe the 14 but I highly doubt that. I just have that feeling that were gonna see a race like last year but with MORE Entries 127.
