Well, Grant Enfinger would be eliminated either way and Tyler Ankrum is not good enough to make it into the Final Four, so it's not very different. Besides, all top drivers made it into the playoffs and Johnny Sauter doesn't have such a good truck as last year, so it's still fair even with Kyle Busch's reign of terror early in the season. 114. Now they have a month off. Crazy 117. George_Costanza posted: 09.14.2019 - 8:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) So does this mean Grant Enfinger is the champion? I mean, he won the regular season championship, so it's essentially the same thing, right? 118. delvalrailfan posted: 09.14.2019 - 9:19 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @117 Regular season champion means that driver scored the most points before the playoffs started. 119. Had Sauter not been suspended for a race, it is possible (not likely, but possible) that he would have earned a few more playoff points and would still be in the playoffs instead of Ankrum. Austin Hill has won 3 races this season but has yet to earn a stage win in his career. 3 of the 8 truck playoff drivers have not raced (or have not raced for points) in all the races this season. 123. Paul Ray: ?Ilmor Engineering is committed to our partnership with NASCAR and to the long-term development of the NT1 engine. To that end, following the issues experienced by a number of different teams and competitors during the Sept. 13 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, engines were returned to the NASCAR R&D Center for technical inspection and data review. The combination of the high engine load condition combined with the extreme weather conditions in Las Vegas resulted in some engines suffering severe detonation. Ilmor is taking new measures in engine calibration to ensure to this situation is corrected for all future races. ?We deeply regret the impact that the engine issues created for our NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series partners. We have requested every engine that raced at the Las Vegas event be returned to our technical facility in Plymouth, Michigan. All the engines will be disassembled and inspected by our highly experienced team. Any damage as a result of the Las Vegas event will be corrected and the engine returned to the race teams as soon as required.? NASCAR: ?We commend Ilmor Engineering for their thorough review and the forthright way they've claimed ownership of the engine issues suffered by teams during the Sept. 13 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The NT1 engine has played a vital role in the health of the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series and that's been evident in the tremendous competition we've seen all season. We're confident that will continue in the years ahead.? 135. I don't expect NASCAR to put anyone back into the playoffs, but whatever decision NASCAR makes will likely upset people. 137. It happened, it's part of racing, in no way should anyone be put back into the playoffs. Also, I can't help but think that ThorSport had a hand in this. 3 out of the 4 competitive trucks with engine failures belonged to them. Were they pushing the limit with the tape and running hotter than the other teams? Seems a little odd. 138.
