Trucks never disappoint, and I think this will be an amazing race as always. It's hard to have a bad Martinsville race in any series. 2. Used to get about 37 trucks to try to make a 32 truck field a few years ago. 5. So Gray could be in the #5 right? Well not so fast, Dylan Lupton is also scheduled for Phoenix and Homestead. Decker scheduled for these races too, and DGR would be absolutely insane to drop Ankrum for either of these races, especially Phoenix. So, DGR has 5 drivers all scheduled for the final 2 races, so either somebody has been dropped or we're going to see 5 DGR trucks. 19. If you start or restart out front, in the proper line of course, you stay there. That's why qualifying is of paramount importance and starting at the back (Hi, Chase!) is ruinous unless you have a vastly superior car or truck (Sorry, Chase!), and even then it could be difficult. 33. No one got to watch the final restart and final several laps... They brought the live feed back during Todd Gilliland's burnout, and for only a few seconds, then they went straight to the Oklahoma State vs Iowa State NCAA football game right away... If FS1 is having such an issues between NASCAR and NCAA or NFL scheduling conflicts, then they need to have a better scheduling layout. They should have kept the NCAA game on Fox Sports 2 as they've kept mentioning it with the Truck race being over it's scheduled distance, but no, they NEEDED to have it on FS1 instead of FS2 right this very second. Streaming is the next generation. NASCAR should come to a decision with Twitch/Youtube streaming to avoid such issues and every one will be happier. 110. Gilliland's win is the first for his family in the series as his grandfather Butch Gilliland made 12 starts during the series' first seasons in the mid-1990s and his father David Gilliland made 17 starts from the mid-2000s to today but neither scored a win on the tour. 111. Of course DGR probably already gets worse stuff than KBM (like Leavine vs. Gibbs in Cup, at least until 2020), but Toyota can still wield the hammer here if they want to. Added to his current full-season point total of 489, that gives him 810 points--exactly tied with Enfinger for 2nd, 30 points behind Moffitt. Technical issues crop up here and there, and it just so happened that it hit FS1 at the worst possible moment, the finish. I guarantee that the support staff was working as quick as possible to resolve the issue, which they did. And while I believe they should've shown a replay of the final two laps and an interview with the winner, it's also understandable that they had to cut to their next program. I mean, let's be serious, college football obviously has a bigger audience than a NASCAR Truck race. It sucks, but it's just common sense that they'd get their waiting audience on to the game. That being said, I've never been a fan of NASCAR on FOX coverage (at least in recent years) so inside I'm kind of giggling that this fiasco happened to them. Hehehe 155. Although that might've been an issue at my local FOX affiliate, I'm not sure, because the race is on YouTube, so I guess someone had to have gotten it. I had recorded that race because I had something else going on, and I was soooo disappointed when I got back home. 157. Corey posted: 10.26.2019 - 8:22 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) @157 I've never had an issue with broadcasting from the studio. Partly because Fox isn't the only one to use that tactic. SPEED, FS1 and NBCSN always did that for the F1 broadcasts, unless the race was in Monaco, Canada or the US. I remember ESPN would broadcast the UEFA Cup (soccer) in the same manner. The announcers would do the pre-game show, then head off to the booth to call the game. Its a common tactic used by all the sports channels to cut costs. 159. After all, we saw Keselowski lose a lot of points last week at Kansas despite being 24 points over Elliott. At this point, Chastain will have to either gather up a lot of stage points like Chase did last week or win again to try again. 165. IMO, Phoenix is the most similar track to Iowa that the trucks run and he dominated that race, then lost it on a penalty. He's also gotten stronger as the season progresses, for instance the first races at Vegas and Martinsville he was 10th and 4th, the second time around 2nd and 2nd. 166. I've been surprised that Todd didn't lose the ride once the playoffs started since he was 0-40 (and likely not coming back in 2020). That tells me he's still gonna race Phoenix & Homestead. Plus for Kyle's fan/hater opinion it could help KB, shaking his hand and congratulating him, AND leaving him in the truck for the rest of the year after the comment, Kyle can show he,ll be the bigger man. However, I do believe he has options. Biffle (I'd like to see him back next year, leave him 1 for 1 this year), Eckes (Smith & B. Jones are scheduled at Phoenix), Lessard, maybe even Hailie Deegan. Alternatively, he could just run the 51 & 18 since the 4 is far behind for the owner's title 169.
