Not a factor, but I'm interested to know what the playoffs would look
like if they reinstated Enfinger & Sauter back into the playoffs.

Also, with Joe Nemechek scheduled to run all 3 races, he'll tie Richard
Petty on sunday for most starts in Nascar across the top 3 series, with
1,185

I hope to god that we don't see a repeat of 2003 when Jim Smith entered
in a few extra trucks to wreck Brendan Gaughan. I don't think DGR would
stoop that low but i wouldn't be shocked if Moffitt or Chastain get
"Wrecked" by other DGR Trucks

Honestly, the Convertible series should count as a top 3 series. They
took the Saturday Daytona Beach race date from the Modifeds, had longer
races than the Sportsman series at the time, and ran on a national
schedule.

@2, I don't think Marty Houston ever intended to wreck Brendan Gaughan.
From what I saw in that wreck, the slow and damaged 27 dropped oil on
the frontstretch, which Marty ran into and spun out, unfortunately
collecting Gaughan.

I thought it was odd that the 97 team is on the entry list. But per
Jayski, the team was purchased by someone else and will continue to
operate. 2020 plans not announced as of yet.
Glad Jesse gets a few more races, he definitely deserves it.

@9 for clarification the 97 will close down after they run Homestead,
with Little rumored to go to JDM (they announced at the same time they
announced the 97 would close doors that Jesse would look for XFINITY/Cup

Without digging into it, I'm going to say no. There have been so few
father/son combinations since 1995 as it is, let alone any that ran
across all three series. I think the Nemecheks, and possibly the
Hamiltons, are the only combos to at any point run in the same race
across all three.

Just look at how long its been just on the Cup side for father/son duos.
Before, the Hamiltons it was the Earnhardt of which neither raced a
truck. Then it was the Petty's and I'm talking Kyle and Richard. In the
one Cup start for Adam, Kyle failed to qualify. He eventually came in to
relief a driver but I think Adam had already dropped out by then so they
were never on track at the same time. The Petty's pre-dated the Truck
series.

I find it a little interesting that there's only 34 entrants this week.
There's a 3rd GMS truck, a 4th KBM truck, a 5th DGR Crosley truck, a
Bill McAnally truck, Jesse Little, and most usual suspects: 4 ThorSport,
2 Nemco, 2 Niece, 2 Reaume, Friesen, all 3 Young's, Hattori, Jordan
Anderson and Jen Jo Cobb.

But, only 1 truck from Cobb, no Norm, no 3rd truck for Niece or Reaume

Expanding on comment #34 a bit, since we have an unusually competitive
field for qualifying (reminds me of the old days in the fall Atlanta Cup
race)...

Assuming I figured this out correctly, the first 2 drivers on this list
who are not among the 26 quickest in qualifying will miss this race.

NASCAR has a history full of guys that wrecked a lot in their formative
years before they finally started winning. And Majeski's entire Xfinity
career has been run in the #60 Roush car, not exactly a "top-five
contending" car. And he's finished top-10 numerous times in that car.

weekend will be Brett Moffitt, Stewart Friesen, Ross Chastain and Matt
Crafton.

Crafton entered this weekend outside of the top-four, but knocked out
Austin Hill to make it.

Who do you think will be the Gander Outdoors Truck Series champion? I
say Stewart Frisen. I think he will bring momentum and Homestead is a
great track for dirt drivers like Larson and Reddick. I think that will
be the same case for Frisen.

And how about Chastain making it to the title bout after not being
awarded points for the first 8 races of the season??? Because he
initially announced his intentions to race for Xfinity series points
before switching after the May Charlotte race to run for Truck points,
Ross had to try to make the playoff field after starting from zero

It's impressive, but making the top 20 in truck points (which is all he
had to do, as long as he had a win) wasn't that difficult when there
were only 11 full-time drivers.

Jones isn't a bad truck driver, and he should stay in trucks. I don't
get why Xfinity teams still hire this guy... oh wait, he probably has a
lot of daddy's money and good truck results "justify" him being put in
Xfinity- but yet him being in Xfinity is completely unjustified if they
just took 1 glimpse at his Xfinity stats outside of that miracle Kansas
win.

Tech is complete in the truck garage. No issues. Friesen is the winner
and championship 4 is official. Two trucks had one loose lug (Friesen,
Sauter) that is a fine.

As a follow-up to comments 1 and 12, if NASCAR had reinstated Enfinger
and Sauter due to those engine issues back at Las Vegas, the net result
would have been that Enfinger would have made the final four in place of
Crafton.

Interestingly, in either alternative scenario posted above (comments 109
and 110), 3 of the trucks in the final four would still be the same
(Moffitt, Friesen, Chastain), and the only difference is that a
different ThorSport truck would be in the final four instead.

Chandler Smith came into this race hot off a runner-up finish in the
famous All American 400 late model race at Nashville (Mason Mingus won).
Just five days off that achievement Smith turns in another great run
with a third-place finish against the Truck Series stars here at Phoenix.

I find it odd that the three drivers to score the most points (Grant
Enfinger, our regular season champion; Brett Moffitt, the current driver
to score the most points and reigning series champion; Ross Chastain,
had he scored points in Truck instead of Xfinity earlier in the year
would be right there with Enfinger, and ahead of Moffitt without the
Iowa DQ) all only scored 35 points in this race.

Yes, the #51 is in the final four. I hadn't really been watching the
owners points as I assumed there was no difference with teams being
penalized for running Cup drivers. I was really surprised to see that
the #88 team actually didn't make the playoffs at all, but now their
driver finds himself in position to fight for the championship.

@119 yes, the 51 is 3rd in owner points, so they are up for the owners
championship against the 24, 45, and 52. Eckes is scheduled to drive the
51 next week.

In 2019, Jennifer Jo Cobb has 2 lead lap finishes, 2 finishes 1 lap down
and 14 races multiple laps down
In an equal 18 starts, Natalie Decker has just 5 more points than Cobb
this year

@124 - it seems likely that Decker's equipment is just a tad better than
JennJo's (*). However, Cobb does have the advantage of considerably more
experience, which is probably why she has 0 DNF due to "crash", while
Decker has 8.

To play advocate for your sarcasm, "tad better" might be uncomfortably
accurate for this race. Natalie finished 3rd best of 5 DGR-Crosley
trucks in this one, their only winner and championship contender
finished 26th, and none of their trucks finished in the top 15

I also want to point out, don't know if someone already did, but 7 of
the top 8 finishers belong to KBM and ThorSport, however none of them
won the race
