No sponsor for Moffitt this week and Creed has basically been sponsorless since the beginning of 2019. Zane Smith's truck was also blank at Homestead so he struggling to find sponsors as well. Maury must be spending a lot of money just to stay competitive. 5. But we might see The most lead lap finishers for any race ever at Kentucky despite this. 28 Last checked. Pocono had 29 and we might see the 2 most lead lap finishers for the trucks since 2007 even though one had rain shortened race. There has been only one shortened NASCAR national series Kentucky race due to weather in 2012 brad Keselowski won and did a weird piece of doing donuts in a downpour to regular drivers thats what not to do on the highway in the rain. 40. Prior to the stages all races were concluded by requiring at least 50% of the laps completed. This would be the very first time without reaching the halfway point of the race that the race would end after the conclusion of Stage 2. 62. Among the top-three series, the Labor Day-weekend Busch race at Darlington in 2002 went just 74 of 147 laps due to rain, coming in at just over 101 miles in length. That race had a really unusual ending to it as well, they had parked the cars on the front straight shy of the finish line to wait out the rain delay - something I've never seen at any other race, at least not that I can remember - and when they finally got the word that the race would be done, they rolled from there past the line to push the race beyond halfway so that it would be official. The winner that day was, of course, Jeff Burton...seemed like nobody else was allowed to win rain-shortened races at the time! 68. It's too bad it came in a rain shortened race, I hate when the race ends early because of rain, especially when they barely get to the cutoff (finish stage 2 race is official, and they just finished stage 2). Raphael Lessard has still never scored a top 10 driving for KBM. If KBM continues 2021 what they've had since 2016 (2 full time drivers, 3 full time trucks) and Eckes has an outcome like Bell or Gragson (2 full seasons in trucks) the decision would be easy who to have as a 2nd full time driver (drop Lessard for Chandler Smith). I would like to see 3 full time drivers out of KBM: Eckes, Smith and Ty Gibbs, with a 4th full time truck for guys like Kyle, Biffle, and whichever 16-17 year old Toyota develops next (maybe Drew Dollar or Michael Self too) 75.
