The US-Canada Border is de facto closed to all noncommercial trade and government traffic right now in relation to the current health crisis, making a race there for an American series right now a non-starter. Daytona is now the first roval to host a Truck race overall and the sixth road course overall after Heartland Park Topeka, Sonoma, Watkins Glen, Portland, and Mosport. 3. This would hurt teams that change drivers frequently, like the #51, #24, or all the Niece teams, in regards to starting lineup. 8. Lol Indianapolis Grand Prix is a much suitable name. Just because one track has a trademark doesn't mean other tracks will be called that. You can, but officially it'll be different. 12. Timothy_Eklund posted: 08.11.2020 - 11:45 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @11 I should have worded that better. I don't call this the roval, I just put road course + oval combinations into there own category. With the high banked turns (unless it's Indy or Pocono) it makes them kind of unique. 13. DeeganFan posted: 08.12.2020 - 7:40 am Rate this comment: (6) (0) @11 Roval is a generic term used to describe oval/road course hybrids for a long time. Just because the trademark office doesn't understand racing and allowed SMI to trademark it doesn't mean that the other tracks can't be called rovals anymore, other than in the track's branding. 17. rm posted: 08.12.2020 - 9:31 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) Charlotte didn't invent the term ?roval? If you go back and watch pretty much any Pocono race ever, at some point during the broadcast somebody will refer to it as a roval. The road course layouts at Daytona & Indy fit that bill...it ain't that deep 18. They have a 30 minute or more "pre-race" to get thru all the interviews and other baloney. You wonder how many casual fans turn the TV on, see there's nothing happening yet, and switch to some other channel where the game has started, and never come back. Back in the 80's and 90's they got the show started promptly, and I don't think it's coincidence that that is also when NASCAR viewership was growing. 35. The former Stadium Super Trucks champ was leading Austin Hill by eight seconds at the end of the stage when he slowed down and turned the truck off to coast across the finish line to save gas at the time's instruction. The issue was they did that with two to go because the stage was a lap longer than the #2 team expected. Creed refired his Chevrolet and held off Hill's #16 Toyota for the stage one on the proper last lap once they realized their mistake. 38.
