The previous high was 36 (2006-2007, 2009-2014.) I hope NASCAR leaves the Xfinity & Truck fields at 40 for next year, too. Especially in the trucks, this has provided lots of teams some opportunities they might otherwise not have. 8. Yeet posted: 09.30.2020 - 10:41 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The 17 team has been trying to rack up points for next season so they can win provisionals for most likely Hailie Deegan, so it wouldn't surprise me if they struck a deal with Korbin's team to run as the 17 and score them points when they aren't directly running themselves. Also, when we have qualifying back, I think the trucks can have size 36 fields as they are consistently hitting that mark. 10. Gallagher has won 2 of the last 4 @TL, for what that's worth - but, as w/ the other 2 winners on that list, neither guy ran full-time or currently run for their race winning Trucks. Reigning winner Spencer Boyd starts one tick higher than last year, & sitting back like last time might just be the ticket for an eventual winner. 20. In the first 9 races, he had an average running position of 15.1, a -108 pass differential, 2 laps led & a 74.8 driver rating. In the last 9 races, he had an average running position of 14.8, a -42 pass differential, 7 laps led & an 82.3 driver rating. In KBM equipment. Now the guy gets luck & wins a plate race, and all of a sudden he's a future superstar...ironically enough, the guy who finishes 2nd is Trevor Bayne, who had similar circumstances (except he was better in Xfinity than Lessard has been in Trucks.) 131. Of course that's no guarantee that it won't end up as predictable as usual, just that this is the best remaining chance for something different to happen. 132. Lessard has underwhelmed this year and if not for that race, would've probably been considered a flop. That win alone is not complete justification for saying that he's improved. Plus, it came at a plate track where anyone can win. I'll be waiting for him to win at a driver's track and until then, I rest my case. 138. I disagree to a degree. Yes the results haven't been up to KBM standards but he has barely any experience on mile and a half's and in the truck series as a whole. With only 2 races with practice and qualifying he's even further behind the 8 ball. He has shown significant improvement and has had some horrendous luck too. He's developing and getting better, and in my opinion deserves a 2nd chance next year 144. Lessard has been straight terrible for a lot of the season, but he put it together today for a lap. NASCAR is still pretty inconsistent on throwing last lap cautions, but being consistently inconsistent is what NASCAR is known for 146.
