Why wasn't there an IROC series from 1980 to 1984?

They had some financial troubles, and Chevrolet wasn't wanting to give
them support anymore. They took the next couple of years to rebuild, and
with renewed support from Chevrolet, they built the new version of the
IROC Camaro.

IROC returns for its first race in over four years. This revival season
would see IROC revamped to have all of the races take place within the
same calendar year for the first time and have its field made up of 12
drivers from across various racing disciplines that would all compete in
every race, eliminating the qualifying races and knockout format of
prior years. IROC would retain this format throughout the rest of its
existence.

Does anyone have any pictures of Dale Earnhardt Sr cars from any year? I
am trying to make customs for each car he drove. Thanks in advance.

Someone actually custom made his 1985 Winston West Series Car recently
that was a California Cooler sponsored #3 Chevy Monte Carlo car that he
won with at Kent.

Go to ebay and type in Dale Earnhardt 1/24 NASCAR Custom or custom and
you'll find some. Go to "sold listings" on the left and you'll see some
that sold recently. Some people do a tremendous job making custom cars.
Action made a lot of Earnhardt's cars, however, there are some that had
to be custom made.

IROC picked up a corporate sponsorship from Budweiser that helped get it
back on track for 1984. The "King of Beers" would continue to back IROC
through 1989 with its name always adorned on the side of the series'
Chevrolet Camaro race cars.
