Amazingly despite his hard hit, Bodine got out and inspected his car
before hoping back in and firing it back up to drive it back to the pits.

This was Al Holbert's final IROC appearance and his last major race in
any series, having stepped away from driving the Porsche 962s in IMSA
earlier in the year. He would lose his life in a plane crash less than
two months after this race while attending an IMSA race in Columbus,
Ohio at the end of September.

Paul Page, Sam Posey and Bobby Unser were the commentators. Jack Arute
was the sole pit road reporter.
