Nine of the twelve drivers were alive in the championship fight! And the
race was held in conjunction with the Marlboro 500.

Scott Sharp was an IndyCar rookie in 1994, but was invited to the IROC
as the 1993 Trans-Am champion.

Mark Martin won a brand new 1995 Dodge Avenger for winning the title.
Fittingly for Martin the car was the sixth Avenger that had come off the
assembly line.

The commentators were Paul Page and Bobby Unser with Jack Arute as the
sole pit road reporter.
