Dale Jarrett took Earnhardt's spot as Earnhardt was healing after a
major wreck from the WC Talladega race.

Tommy Kendall missed this race as he was in Elkhart Lake for a SCCA
Trans-Am race the same day. Kendall won that race as he closed in on the
series championship. NASCAR driver Geoff Bodine came in to pinch hit for
Kendall and made his final IROC start, and his first since 1991, as a
result. Bodine was hot off a Cup win at Watkins Glen, ultimately his
last one, at the time of this race.

Paul Page, Bobby Unser and Benny Parsons were the commentators. Jack
Arute was the sole pit road reporter.
