Randy LaJoie's only IROC victory and the first for a driver invited as
the reigning Busch Grand National series champion.

Darrell Waltrip earns the distinction of being the only driver in IROC
history to run the full season and not score a top 10. Tom Sneva came
close in 1978 but did not run the 4th and final race that year.

Waltrip admittedly was a last minute sub after Davy Jones' all but
career ending crash at Disney at the start of the year. IROC invited him
as part of his 25th Anniversary in racing celebration he had going on
that year.
