Steve Kinser flips down the superstretch in spectacular fashion (as they
usually are), but the scarier moment came when the fans and the TV
audience saw that he was not getting out of the car. Kinser was
eventually helped from the car after having to have the door rollbars
cut off. The King had a black eye, but was alright.

I believe this is also the first year that the ARCA RE/MAX Series will
be represented.

In case anyone is curious here were the highlight colors used by each
IROC car in 2006, all cars were mainly white with the highlight color
the same for every race designed to somewhat match the driver's regular
race cars...

This would be IROC's last race on the Daytona oval, a road course race
later in the season brought down the curtain on IROC's tenure at the track.

Matt Kenseth scores his first IROC victory in over a year and his only
one at Daytona. This was the NASCAR Cup champion's third and final IROC
victory.

Sam Hornish Jr's second place, Frank Kimmel's third place, and Wayne
Taylor's sixth place finishes would be the best for all three drivers in
IROC competition.

Thanks to his early crash this marked the first IROC race that Mark
Martin competed in where he finished outside the top-10 since the
Talladega race all the way back in 1996, he was also taken out in an
early accident in that one.

The commentators for the race were Mike Joy, Larry McReynolds and Jeff
Hammond with Matt Yocum on pit road.
