While Richmond led this race at one point he didn't finish high enough to make the field and for the only time in his Cup career he DNQed. At least he went on to win the 500's consolation race; he'd take over J.D. Stacy's #2 entry at North Wilkesboro later in the year and his career took off afterward. How ironic Delma was sponsored by a transmission business and went out breaking one. The party man and his #0 still made the 500 on speed. This race ended under caution due to rain. 3. It was sponsored by "Crouch Ent." https://www.facebook.com/KKRaceShots/photos/a.569188163127308.1073741866.550690284977096/569189896460468/?type=3&theater 6. Ditto Richmond's 1982 Daytona 500 DNQ and his win in the 1982 Daytona 500 Consolation Race) 7. Both drivers ended up having to fall back on their qualifying times to get their Buicks into the main event. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
