Nascar should of had better safety instead of waiting till Adam, Kenny, Blaise and Dale died. Very sad. 3. That car got about 30 feet in the air. 5. nascarman posted: 05.29.2006 - 2:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Rusty Wallace also fliped in this race. 6. nascarman posted: 05.29.2006 - 2:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sorry Rusty fliped in race 2. 7. Brock Beard posted: 03.01.2010 - 2:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) jp, I found out what was going on about 15th place. Ronnie Sanders was slated to start 15th in car #81, but something went sideways before the race and he didn't start. The starting grid from the USA/CBS broadcast lists Sanders' "Did Not Start" status next to Joe Booher's #65. In a last-second deal, Sanders replaced Dick May in the #19 for the 2nd Twin 125, but spun it into the trioval grass late in the race. Thus, both the #81 and #19 failed to make the Daytona 500, but only the #19 shows up in the DNQ list as it was the only car Sanders actually raced in the 125s. 10. He led the last 25 laps or so, but was a sitting duck on the final lap as Earnhardt and Baker used the slingshot to get by him on the backstretch and then Kyle Petty barely edged him at the checkered flag. 13. That had to have been depressing for him. 16. Rob McKeever posted: 02.22.2016 - 9:28 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) A.J. Foyt took lead on lap 28 and held to when he was passed on the last lap. Toyota actually was one of the sponsors of the broadcast although they were still 24 years away from actually competing in NASCAR Cup races at Daytona during this time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
