Steve Moore climbed out limping pretty bad. 3. stricklinfan82 posted: 12.26.2007 - 3:50 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Jack Ingram qualified for the Daytona 500 with a 13th place finish driving a 3rd Junior Johnson car. The #92 car was a last minute entry in case Neil Bonnett somehow missed the race driving a car with no owner's points to fall back on. Bonnett and Ingram actually shared a pit crew in this race. Neither Ingram nor the #92 car started the 500 though so I'm guessing that Junior just withdrew the car on Friday or Saturday. If that's how it went down that's quite a raw deal for the legendary Busch Series driver if you ask me. 4. I've seen him have a wild wreck at Daytona in 84 driving car #60, which according to video was in a "Daytona 500 Consolation race" but judging by the results it wasn't in this race. When did he have his wreck? 5. stricklinfan82 posted: 05.03.2008 - 12:13 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The Natz Peters crash happened in the consolation race, which I believe was run on Friday during Speedweeks. For several years NASCAR ran a consolation race for the cars that DNQ'ed for the Daytona 500. Randy LaJoie won the race in '85 (which I believe was the final consolation race ever run), and I believe Lake Speed and Tim Richmond were among the other drivers who won the consolation race in the 1980's. 6. I hope this website finds some records of those races and puts them on here. That would be pretty cool! 7. They also gave the bonus for the Daytona 500. 10. He did run a Simoniz car in the Daytona 500 because Tom Sneva had them on his #2 but crashed in the second 125 and didn't make the race. With the Indy 500 ace out they moved their sponsorship over to the RahMoc car. 12. He would rebound to make the 500 in '87 & '89, however, as well as being in the '81 Daytona 500; the only 3 Cup races of his career. 23.
