Kinser got onto the apron and lost control, spinning up the track and sending Smith head-on into the wall, very similar to his crash at Talladega in July of 1993 where he sustained life-threatening injuries. 6. He would nearly die in a crash at Talladega later in the summer of 1993. This would be Rick Wilson's best oval finish in the #44 STP Pontiac. He finished 8th in his first race after replacing the legendary Richard Petty and Petty Enterprises renumbering the car from #43 for the year; he would only match it later in the year at Sonoma. 8. saltsburgtrojanfan posted: 02.16.2015 - 8:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Caution 1: Lap 4-7: #31,73 accident turn 1 Caution 2: Lap 38-42: #66 accident frontstretch 9. Trucking #95 Ford but withdrew due to crashing the team's only car in practice. 10. myself posted: 02.23.2016 - 11:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Final Twin 125 for Davey Allison. :( 11. On the TV broadcast Chris Economacki says tomorrow is the Daytona 500, which was Sunday, February 14, 1993. He also announced the death of Joe Booher, who died on February 12, 1993. That makes me think this race was run on the same day as the Goody's 300, Saturday, February 13, 1993. 13. Corey posted: 08.27.2020 - 3:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @12 The twins/duals have always been on Thursday. CBS used to tape them and air edited versions on Saturday. 15. 27YearsBehind posted: 08.27.2020 - 4:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Oh, so they ran it on Thursday and did all of the announcing on Saturday when it was aired? During the post-race show for the 125's they show the Goody's 300 running in the background. 16. 27YearsBehind posted: 08.27.2020 - 4:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) To your point, Canadian, in the pre-race interview Dale Earnhardt mentioned that he won on Thursday, so it appears you are correct. 17. possum posted: 08.27.2020 - 7:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @14 - you are correct. Live coverage of the duals didn't happen until some while later (I'm not sure if CBS ever did, it might have been something new with FOX). 18.
