To make some money after losing their sponsor they made a deal with DEI to exchange numbers so DEI could use the #1 for rookie Steve Park. Now using #14 for their efforts, the team entered Daytona with former 500 polesitter Loy Allen Jr as their driver with Delco Remy America on board for a one-off. They were unable to race their way in and the team disbanded sortly thereafter. Ironically, the new #1 also DNQed for the 500. Steve got collected in a 5-car crash early in this event that derailed his, and also ARCA driver Mark Gibson's, efforts to make the big race. 2. Dale Earnhardt's 11th of 12 Twin 125 wins and ninth in a row. 4. Is this the race? 5. I saw one source list him retiring with engine failure but looking over some video the car appeared to come into the pits under power (it wasn't blowning smoke like he'd blown a motor) and the announcers implied he was parking it to save it. 6. ericthenau posted: 12.27.2011 - 11:43 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Shouldn't the status for the #5 car of Terry Labonte say "quit" instead of "parked", RaceFanX? Reading the previous post that you made, I am confident that NASCAR did not do anything in this race that would require Terry Labonte to park his #5 car for the day, and because you mentioned that the announcers told everyone watching this race that Terry Labonte was parking his car so that he could save it for the Daytona 500 3 days after this race, I think "quit" would make a better status for Terry Labonte's #5 car instead of "parked". 7. 10andJoe posted: 03.25.2012 - 12:39 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #5 status: quit 8. 10andJoe posted: 03.25.2012 - 12:52 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Was Kenny Wallace penalized? Because he was unofficially 15th, directly behind Pressley and ahead of Standridge, but the results here, and elsewhere, credit him 16th. 9. 10andJoe posted: 03.25.2012 - 12:52 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) First caution: Laps 10-16 - #59, 17, 78, 10, 71, 50, 1 accident turn 4 Second caution: Lap 50 - #14 spin turn 1 10. 10andJoe posted: 03.25.2012 - 12:53 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #14 status: crash 11.
