This was Dale Earnhardt's first loss in the 125 since 1989. He won every year from 1990 to 1999. 3. BurtonRuddFan posted: 11.27.2007 - 3:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) What a snoozefest!!! Only 1 lead change. Good runs for Elliott and Pruett. 4. It was sadly only the beginning of a terrible weekend for Bodine as the following day he had his horrific crash in the Truck series race that left him sidelined for months. He would return at Richmond in May. Johnny Benson sneaks his unsponsored #10 Pontiac into the 500 with a 14th-place finish here then on Sunday would come amazingly close to winning the whole shebang. Maybe it was the black paint?: Dale Earnhardt's 125-winning streak dating back to 1990 ended in this race which was by chance one of the few times he ran a Cup car for Goodwrench without his traditional black paint job. He had a red car for this event and the 500 to tie in with the release of the new 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo instead. 6. Robby didn't appreciate it and the incident led to a confrontation in the garage area, live on ESPN2's coverage of practice, where Tony told Robby to 'Go the F**k away until you shimmer down' then shoved him as Gordon started to walk away. Gordon responded by grabbing Tony's uniform and pulling him toward him but a full-on fight was averted when Tony's crew forcibly removed Robby from their garage stall. BP joked afterward "Robby, you forgot to bring your team" when trying something like that. Both of them ran in this 125 and finished in the top-10 to give Tony a 7th-place starting spot for the 500 and Robby a much-needed place in the race. 8. He had to take the past champion's provisional to make it in the field for his final Daytona 500. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
