In the 2001 Daytona 500, neither Earnhardt's fatal accident (middle groove) nor The Big One triggered by Robby Gordon (outside groove) happened because of cars going below the present-day "out-of-bounds line." 3. Blaney's daring last lap move roughs up Todd Bodine and drops him out of the top 14 and causes him to miss the 500. I was actually hoping Blaney's move would trigger "The Big One" on that last lap so Hut could move up into the top 14 but it wasn't meant to be :( 5. 1995z71 posted: 12.14.2011 - 12:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) anyone have video of blaneys move? 6. It seems a vast majority of Gatorade qualifying races since 2010 have been photo finishes or very close to it at the end. I loved watching the entire 2001 Twin 125's for their sheer excitement and seeing the "gentleman's agreement" on going below the yellow line. This is something I hope Nascar can scale back very soon with the current RP rules package. 11. I later noticed their logo on Leik's car in this race. 12.
