Bodine was driving Kirk Shelmerdine's car and just missed the race, getting beat by his Truck team owner's Cup team! Mark Martin led a race high 28 laps but pulled out of the running with a couple laps to go to save his car. 3. SoxFan24 posted: 02.11.2010 - 5:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) That finish was amazing. I think that RCR may be a threat for the 500. All of the RCR cars ran well. Burton and Bowyer ran up front the whole race and could've won. Harvick came out of nowhere and nearly won the race if the start/finish line was where it is at Talledega. Great run for Michael McDowell to come to Daytona last minute in the start and park Prism Motorsporsports number 55. He raced his way to a transfer spot. Michael Waltrip today proved why he does not need to be a full time driver anymore. Waltrip crashed twice in the Shootout, in practice and again in the 150's. He just has no car control whatsoever. Otherwise a great race 1! 5. potatosalad48 posted: 02.11.2010 - 5:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) congrats jimmie, michael and max!!!!!!!!! 6. He'll be a non-factor in the 500. Darrell needs to realize his brother is a never was and stop bragging on Michael's plate track prowess, which was only true when DEI had by far the class of the field on the plate tracks. 10. Who cares if he called him "Jarrett" instead of Dale, he talked about him all the time, even when he was out of contention and the cameras were off of him. Life must be miserable for you people if you get worked up over that. 11. 18fan posted: 02.11.2010 - 7:21 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) It was all Kyle Busch's push that won this race for Jimmie Johnson. Kyle should be the favorite for the 500 once again. 12. Cooper posted: 02.11.2010 - 7:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Best Racing in years. Both Races were phenomenal. And Jimmie finds another way to win... he and that team are unbelievable. 13. DaleSrFanForever posted: 02.11.2010 - 7:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Damn, JJ really IS Superman. "Way too much Michael Waltrip coverage." Amen. He lost it on his own in both races run so far. He is NOT a "good drafter" he just had blatently superior cars from '01-'04. He's been a non factor for the checkered flag since, just like before he joined DEI (I know he had some Top 5s, but he was never a threat to win). Dale Mears fans: It's gonna be another long disappointing year. 14. 18fan posted: 02.11.2010 - 7:42 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dale Junior is like a better drafting version of Michael Waltrip. His plate racing has vastly deteriorated since DEI lost its clear advantage on plate tracks. 15. He has crashed HOW MANY TIMES during Speedweeks?! The guy can't even race on plate tracks anymore. Looking forward to only seeing him race 4 times this year. Good job McDowell and Papis for racing their way in the 500. 19. b4il3y posted: 02.12.2010 - 12:01 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm gonna say it here..Regan Smith is gonna be tough Sunday..you know he can race plates...won one already as far as I'm concerned. 20. Regan is basically driving a fourth RCR car as they have a technical alliance with RCR and they got the points from the 07 car last year. Smith should have won that race in Talledega in 08 and does run well at the plate tracks. He could get a top 10 easily I think 21. This is probably his last Daytona 500 and this is one of his best tracks. 22. Smiff_99 posted: 02.12.2010 - 9:17 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Not bashing, just saying.....Jimmie Johnson won that race ONLY because Bowyer and Harvick pushed him. On the first lap after the restart, Johnson was holding up the bottom lane all the way around to the backstretch. Bowyer could've maybe pulled out and passed him easily, but for whatever reason, he and Harvick elected to latch on to Johnson and push him up to speed. I mean, yeah, Jimmie did a good job holding on to her, but he's not the superhuman driver everybody makes him out to be. He's just a good driver with the best luck in the business, a genius for a crew chief and competitors who whine about him beating them, then turn around and push him to victories. 23. Bronco posted: 02.12.2010 - 12:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great finish, and probably the first time that Harvick has been on the losing side of a photo finish. Michael McDowell, I don't know how he did it, but he made the race and beat Sorenson despite posting only the 50th fastest time on Saturday. Out of respect for the race and everything it means, I hope Phil Start and Parksons won't call it quits after 10 laps. Awesome to see Max Papis make it. He's got some ways to go before he's even an average stock car driver, but he's cool anyway. Ironically, he makes the field by passing his truck teammate, who could have made it in the underfunded Kirk Shelmerdine car. "Dale Junior is like a better drafting version of Michael Waltrip. His plate racing has vastly deteriorated since DEI lost its clear advantage on plate tracks." Um, no it hasn't. Since he took over the #88, he's outperformed all his immediate teammates at the RP tracks, despite struggling at other places. 24.
