Steven Wallace took out Todd Bodine by being stupid and damaged his own car. 2. Cooper posted: 02.17.2011 - 5:55 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Brad's car sucked all day long, and wasn't able to crack the top 10 for the first 40 laps. Brad then got spun by Todd Bodine, damaging Brad's right rear fender. Having to start from the rear Brad tagged up with his brother and his car ran the fastest it did all day while pushing the #92. Brad and Brian got all the way to the front even challenging for the lead down the stretch. Brian would end up finishing fifth and qualifying for this Sunday's 500. Brian says him and his father and owner are using old Evernham cars from 2006. Simply Spectacular. Very exciting race and I thought the two car drafts were a little less effective then this past Saturday's race. Overall I can't wait till Sunday. 3. It was awesome seeing Brad push his big brother in the final laps. Meanwhile, Logano had a pretty scary wreck after he caught the end of the wall on the frontstretch, lifting his car on its rear wheels. 4. In addition, the Childress cars of Burton and Bowyer seemed able to run together longer than any other tandem, except Edwards/Biffle and Gordon/Bayne. 6. MW, BriKes, Bill Elliott, JJ Yeley, Travis Kvapil, Joe Nemechek, Dave Blaney and Terry Labonte (PCP) are the GOGHers who qualify for the Daytona 500. Todd Bodine, Kevin Conway, Casey Mears, Michael McDowell and Derrike Cope are the ones who miss the show. 7. Bronco posted: 02.17.2011 - 8:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Much better race than Duel #1, it was incredible to see the #92 briefly hold the lead on the backstretch, cannot believe how he pulled off a top 5 in this race after being the slowest car in qualifying, by being over 2 seconds behind Dale Jr's pole lap. Good to see Michael get his #15 tribute car in the field, with some more help he might have won. Casey Mears misses his second straight Daytona 500, after being in it 7 years straight from 2003-2009 and finishing runner up in 2006. 10. Benny posted: 02.17.2011 - 9:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree with you Bronco. This was better than the first Duel. I thought it was wild when the elder keselowski briefly had the lead. 11. Cooper posted: 02.17.2011 - 10:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bronco is right with this one. This duel was one of the best duels I've seen in a long time. I'n hoping the 500 is more like this one then the other duel. 12. RCRandPenskeGuy posted: 02.17.2011 - 11:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) From what I've seen from the RCR cars, I think they could be good in the 500. They seemed to have this two-car deal figured out in the Shootout, and they managed to take the top 2 positions in this Duel. Good to see Jeff Burton pick up a win and a good starting spot for the 500. Underdog story of Speedweeks occurs as Brad Kez gets spun out, and on his way to the front he pushes his older brother Brian to a 5th place finish and a spot in the 500! That was very cool to see. 13. martin-n-rusty posted: 02.18.2011 - 7:30 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Looking at the Bodine-Wallace wreck, it did look like someone was giving Steve a push from behind too, so it could of just been one of those accordion deals. 14. potatosalad48 posted: 02.18.2011 - 8:38 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) great race overall. atta boy to brian keselowski, in a 5 year old car w/ help from his brother, not only making the 500 but finishing 5th in his duel! can't wait for the daytona 500! 15. jamie88fan posted: 02.18.2011 - 8:46 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) To bad this was the old days when they took the top 14 cope would of been in nascar needs to get rid of the top 35 rule .. He was RCR's franchise driver. His name was Johnny Sauter. Oh wait, I'm sorry, it was Dale Earnhardt. 17. Turd Ferguson posted: 02.18.2011 - 12:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "nascar needs to get rid of the top 35 rule" Agreed. It should be the fastest 43, and the top Duel race finishers at Daytona. NOBODY should be locked in. 18. DaleJrFan19 posted: 02.18.2011 - 1:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Much better duel than the first, but I still don't like the two car tango crap. Way to go! Just for fun, I came up with what the grid would have looked like, had they used the "classic 2+28+8+4+1" type qualifying format (like they should)... Row 1: 88, 24 Row 2: 22, 31 Row 3: 78, 33 Row 4: 29, 15 Row 5: 17, 18 Row 6: 4, 92 Row 7: 42, 1 Row 8: 43, 2 Row 9: 5, 11 Row 10: 27, 56 Row 11: 39, 99 Row 12: 48, 00 Row 13: 14, 38 Row 14: 83, 64 Row 15: 09, 16 Row 16: 21, 9 Row 17: 6, 87 Row 18: 36, 47 Row 19: 20, 60 Row 20: 71, 77 Row 21: 7, 37 Row 22: 32 DNQ: 97, 13, 34, 66, 46, 57 I've assumed the swaps of owners' points would still have taken place to get (better) spots for provisionals. If no owner-points swaps are assumed, the #71 would be out and the #34 would be in. 20. jp posted: 02.19.2011 - 8:04 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Under my Top 15 qualifying rules, here is how the 500 lineup would look: R1: 22, 31 R2: 78, 33 R3: 29, 15 R4: 17, 18 R5: 4, 92 R6: 42, 1 R7: 43, 2 R8: 5, 11 R9: 27, 56 R10: 39, 99 R11: 48, 00 R12: 14, 24 R13: 88, 38 R14: 83, 64 R15: 09, 16 R16: 9, 21 R17: 87, 6 R18: 36, 20 R19: 47, 60 R20: 97, 77 R21: 34, 7 R22: 66 DNQ: 71, 46, 13, 32, 37 How my Top 15 works: I take the top 15 finshers from the 2 Duels and put them in the Daytona 500 to get the first 30 starters. (Transfers: 8th and 14th) Rows 16-22 is determined on where the drivers started in their Duel, or by their qualifying time. Kinda like the old Top 14 rule. 21.
