If Haley is the highest finishing car in this duel, Reed Sorenson will make the field on speed. Daniel Suarez and Chad Finchum HAVE to be the highest finishing open car in this duel or they will not make the field for the Daytona 500. 2. 34McDowellFan posted: 02.12.2020 - 4:21 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I forgot to mention, Sorenson will also make the field if Brendan Gaughan is the highest finishing car in Duel 2. 3. Now, it's shaping up very close between him and Sorenson to get the transfer spot out of this duel. If Haley plays it safe to stay out of trouble and preserve the #16 primary car, it helps Sorenson's chances that much more. 5. Race two: BJ, Poole, Lajoie, Gaughan seem the most likely, and maybe even Ross only because that seems like a situation where they put all the effort into the main car 8. Anonymous posted: 02.12.2020 - 8:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Watch both of these 2 races to be single file. I think ALL THE DRIVERS will preserve their cars for the 500. Other than setting up the starting grid for the 500, the duels have no use at all. If you're starting at the back, it's a 500 mile race not a 5 mile race so there is time to catch up and maybe win. Don't expect drivers to be aggressive for this useless race. 9. Robby posted: 02.12.2020 - 9:07 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @8 Don't like it? Don't watch. As great of a restrictor plate racer he is, this would be shocking if he never end up winning one of these events in his career. He's my pick, and we have his teammates Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney all together in Duel #1 as well. Also to note; Of all three Roger Penske drivers, Brad is the only one who hasn't won at this event, while Blaney (2018) and Logano (2019) each won their first in the past two seasons. 15. Yeley being that would knock Hill out. 118. MJM posted: 02.13.2020 - 9:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Actually, Daytona 500* My mistake. 119. In 1/2 straightaway he went from being 5 car lengths behind Darrell Wallace Jr. to completely passing him in turn 3. The closing rate for superspeedways is insane. 127.
