If Brendan Gaughan is the highest finishing open car, then Reed Sorenson will make the field on his qualifying time. If Sorenson raced in through Duel 1, then Timmy Hill would make the field as well. Hill would also make the field if Justin Haley is the highest open car in Duel 1 and Gaughan is the highest in Duel 2. In short, Hill makes the field if -He's the highest open car in this race -Sorenson is the highest open car in Duel 1 and Gaughan is the highest in Duel 2 -Haley and Gaughan are the highest open cars in their respective duels J.J. Yeley's only path to making the 500 is to finish ahead of both Gaughan and Hill in this duel. 2. Of course with teammates William Byron and Alex Bowman all starting at the front along with Jimmie Johnson, I expect them to work together at the front for most of the event. I wouldn't be surprised to see 2020 Busch Clash winner Erik Jones pull off the victory to go 2 for 2 starting out during the Daytona Speed Weeks. He's my pick. 4. Yeley must beat both Gaughan and Hill to transfer; otherwise the last spot goes to Hill. All other positions are already locked in. 6.
