He also attempted to qualify for several points races in 1995 and 1996, but DNQ'd every single time. 7. As strong as Schrader was, Todd was significantly faster, racing from 8th to 1st in the final 15 laps when several other drivers stayed out during the last caution. Unfortunately this was the high-water mark for his season and then some. He'd crash out of the All-Star race later that night, and fail to finish better than 17th in any race for the remainder of the year. 13. Mayfield spun to the apron where he got collected by Pancho Carter in a pretty heavy impact. Brad Teague and Jay Hedgecock also both got damage. Sacks, Allen, and Nemechek all had 1 car incidents which I believe were all coming off turn 2. Stricklin and Bodine were the class of the field in the early portion of the race. Bodine had to pit for debris on his grille but fortunately for him all but 5 cars did the same. Of the 5 cars that didnt pit only Bobby Hillin, replacing Davy Jones, didnt transfer, indicating not pitting was the right thing. Bodine easily dispatched all 5 of the non pitters, but only he was able to pass everyone. Stricklin got mired in traffic and Craven tried to make a push to pass Speed for 5th but ran out of time. 14.
