This was kind of a crazy race with a wreck that took out a lot of front runners. 2. biffle16 posted: 05.03.2007 - 3:12 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Good run for Geoff Bodine. 3. 3fan4eva posted: 05.03.2007 - 9:07 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Car Numbers #6 Mark Martin #18 Bobby Labonte #88 Dale Jarrett #99 Jeff Burton #2 Rusty Wallace #40 Sterling Marlin #94 Bill Elliott #7 Geoff Bodine #4 Bobby Hamilton #98 Rich Bickle #21 Michael Waltrip #24 Jeff Gordon #28 Kenny Irwin #5 Terry Labonte #10 Ricky Rudd #12 Jeremy Mayfield #1 Darrell Waltrip #43 John Andretti #3 Dale Earnhardt #36 Ernie Irvan 4. 3fan4eva posted: 05.03.2007 - 9:11 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Car Numbers #5 Terry Labonte #20 Tony Stewart #24 Jeff Gordon #3 Dale Earnhardt #12 Jeremy Mayfield #60 Geoff Bodine #40 Sterling Marlin #7 Michael Waltrip #94 Bill Elliott #43 John Andretti #66 Darrell Waltrip #4 Bobby Hamilton #44 Kyle Petty #22 Ward Burton #18 Bobby Labonte #6 Mark Martin #2 Rusty Wallace #36 Ernie Irvan #88 Dale Jarrett #99 Jeff Burton #10 Ricky Rudd 5. Except for Stewart, Gordon, Earnhardt, and maybe Mayfield, I think the crash took out nearly everyone who could've challenged Texas Terry for the win. 7. I remember DJ's wreck in the white 88 car and I was a young kid then. 8. It was the only time in his 1999 championship season that D.J. ran a different look. 13. joey2448 posted: 05.13.2013 - 8:24 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Just watched some of the race on YouTube. You'd think today's FOX team was covering the race, lol. TNN was covering it, and they go to commercial moments after the Jarrett/Burton/Rudd crash, then they completely miss the ensuing restart when the field wrecked on the backstretch! Just terrible coverage. 14. The car was placed on the famous "Glory Road" during the display's new third incarnation, representing the raise of the special paint scheme as a recurring part of NASCAR. Jeff Gordon's Superman special in this race was painted with DuPont's famous color-changing ChromaLusion paint for this race, just as his 1998 Winston car had been. His team-up with the Man of Steel was part of a cross-motorsport promotion between Action Performance and DC Comics that saw many famous drivers in numerous series run Superman-themed paint jobs throughout the 1999 season, focusing on reigning series champions where possible. The other participants included Truck champ Ron Hornaday, Jr., Busch champ Dale Earnhardt, Jr., World of Outlaws champ Steve Kinser, former CART champ Jimmy Vasser, and NHRA racers John Force, Joe Amato, Warren Johnson, and Matt Hines. On the other side of the coin all of the racers also got to appear in a special one-off Superman comic tying in with the promotion. 17. The ex-CART racer made it into the all-star race three times in 1998, 1999, and 2000 but this was the only time he didn't end up crashing out very early in the race. 18. Stewart put up a fight for a lap or two, but Labonte then drove off into the sunset for his 2nd and final all-star race win. 19. saltsburgtrojanfan posted: 05.16.2018 - 3:08 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Green flag: Lap 1-6 Caution 1: Lap 7 (Caution laps do not count in The Winston): rain Green flag: Lap 7-11 Caution 2: Lap 12 (Caution laps do not count in The Winston): #10,88,99 accident turn 2 Caution 3: Lap 12 (Caution laps do not count in The Winston): #2,6,18,21,22,36,94 accident backstretch Green flag: Lap 12-30 Caution 4: Lap 31 (Caution laps do not count in The Winston): end of segement 1 Green flag: Lap 31-60 Caution 5: Lap 61 (Caution laps do not count in The Winston): end of segment 2 Caution 6: Lap 61 (Caution laps do not count in The Winston): #24 jumped restart Green flag: Lap 61-70 20. saltsburgtrojanfan posted: 05.16.2018 - 3:14 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) correction #21 was not involved in the 3rd caution 21. jp posted: 12.21.2018 - 3:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sponsor Update: #7-Michael Waltrip: Klaussner Furniture/Sealy Mattress Source: https://m.imgur.com/P0dH9GG 22. Michael Waltrip (1996) and Jamie McMurray (2014) had longer droughts, though McMurray's drought ended due to retirement rather than a win. 23.
