Needless to say that those two weren't happy with each other. They took out a good majority of the field as well. 2. Martin was planning on retiring from Cup after his 2005 "Salute to You" farewell season at the time but confirmed to his crew over the radio after the race he would at least return for the all-star race the following year. He ended up returning for a lot more than that... Former Winston winner Rusty Wallace crashes out of his final All-Star race before retirement. 6. Sadler led a good portion of the race and could keep up with Martin but had to settle for a second-place finish. Ironically despite the great run this turned out to be his last start in the All-Star race. 12. Source:I have numerous diecast of that scheme from 1992. And the 1993 Preview and Press Guide has the results of the 1992 Mello Yello 500. 13. I've found references that practice was delayed (on Friday, Jayski) due to rain, but nothing that the actual race got postponed to the Sunday. 15. Gee I wonder why most of these re-airs have something in common either the winners are former champions of their respective series they competed or a lot of them are NASCAR Hall Of Famers or were nominated this year? Just a thought. 16. Aaron posted: 03.14.2021 - 6:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Limiting it to the last 10 years winners was a smart way to keep Geoff Bodine out of the field. 17. Dr. Dick Berggren along with Steve Byrnes and Matt Yocum were the pit road reporters. Chris Myers and Jeff Hammond were in the Hollywood hotel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
