Tony Stewart blaming Matt Kenseth for that crash was just ridiculous,
and he needs a brain scan.

The big crash happened when Kahne pushed up the racetrack into Martin
coming out of turn 2 on a restart and everybody piled in. I think it was
right after an inversion since Kyle Busch was back in the pack after
winning the first segment.

Jimmie Johnson wins his second NASCAR All-Star race. Johnson's car 'was
so far' the small Lowe's decal in front of his car's roof cam blew off
during this race.

Kyle Petty won the fan vote this year for a good reason. He had a
one-off Coca-Cola sponsorship to promote their then-new MyCokeRewards
program (a 'drink Coke products, get free stuff' promotion) and Coke
promised to make a $250,000 charity donation to Kyle's Victory Junction
Gang Camp if the fans would vote Kyle into the all-star race. The fans
complied and Petty's camp got the money.

11 different owners represented in this race. We'd never see that in an
all-star race today.

Michael Waltrip's final all-star race ends in a crash just before
halfway. This was the last year he was eligible for the event after his
big win here in 1996. He kept competing in the event through 2010 but
never transferred out of the Open into the big show.

First caution - laps 13-16 - 6, 26 accident frontstretch
Second caution - laps 34-37 - 2 oil on track/rain
Third caution - lap 40 - segment end (no laps counted)
Fourth caution - laps 45-48 - 55 accident frontstretch
Fifth caution - laps 50-53 - 5, 6, 9, 16, 19, 20, 26 accident backstretch
Sixth caution - lap 70 - segment end (no laps counted)
Seventh caution - lap 73 - 17, 20 accident turn 1 (no laps counted)

I'm pretty sure Scott Riggs only completed 89 laps instead of 90, as he
was referred to as the lone lapped car for the last ~70 or so laps and
there was no free pass available in this race. They never showed
intervals during the last segment, though, and any other results page
seems to also show him at 90/90 laps, so I've got nothing.

Mike Joy along with Larry McReynolds and Darrell Waltrip were the
commentators. Dr. Dick Berggren along with Steve Byrnes and Matt Yocum
were the pit road reporters. Chris Myers and Jeff Hammond were in the
Hollywood hotel.
