First NASCAR win for Red Bull Racing Sam Hornish contends to win a NASCAR race for the first time. The IRL legend was almost dirt-tracking it, noticably sliding the rear end out almost the whole way around the track in the closing laps of the race. In a way I don't believe it, I never thought A.J. or Hornish had the ability to win in NASCAR before this. They have silenced many of their critics. The top 2, Allmendinger and Hornish transfered to the All-Star race as did 5th place finisher Kasey Kahne who won the Fan Vote. In the All-Star race itself... Kahne won the event Hornish hit the wall in the opening laps and dropped off the lead lap yet fought back onto the lead lap and finished 7th Allmendinger finished 17th 2. Also great run for Hornish. 3. samfan08 posted: 05.18.2008 - 3:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Allmendinger has given no signs until this race that he can run Cup. Hornish has given me the feeling the past few weeks that he was on the brink of a great run, but usually had bad luck(Talladega, running as fast as the top 10 after the wreck at Darlington). Either way, hopefully this is a sign of things to come for both, and not a fluke. I guess we'll see next week. Also, class from Allmedinger for taking responsibility and apologizing to Elliott Sadler after the race. 4. When he said he felt like he just won the Daytona 500, you could tell how much the win meant to him. 5.
