He seems to be the closest to winning a race out of anyone in this field. That was an embarrassing run for McMurray in qualifying. The car was so loose he at least did a good job not wrecking it. 3. As of a few hours ago, the top 5 alphabetically were Allmendinger, Jr., Bill Elliott(who's not running), B. Labonte and Logano. 4. 10andJoe posted: 05.19.2012 - 5:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) ^ Hoping for Labonte then 5. I would've never guessed he would've finished 2nd to Dale Jr after a flat tire on the final pace lap. However he definitely had some luck on his side. 13. I call it fixed. You can't tell me that Labonte has more fans then Logano and Truex!!!! That's impossible! Granted, Labonte won the 1998 Daytona 500 pole, and the 2000 Winston Cup Championship, but he's made virtually no noise since then! Come on. Seriously? Oh well, at least it wasn't Danica Pornographic *Who wasn't racing, thank god* and at least Dale Jr and AJ 'Dinger raced their way in. Go get 'em in the All-Star Race Martin! I believe in you!!!! 19. Labonte has turned himself into a joke of a past champion and rolling road block on sundays. 22. Spen posted: 05.19.2012 - 8:47 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Not all that surprising when you consider that he's been fifth or sixth consistently in MPD voting. There's a lot of old school fans who moved to Bobby after Bill retired. And heck yeah, I got my fan vote prediction right! I'm surprised that Burton isn't in the top five in votes, though. I'd have thought he'd have more fans than Logano, at least. 23. Thinking of quitters both Tommy Baldwin cars didn't pit at the competition caution then parked. Kinda odd. This race really only had 4 real contenders. (Jr., Dinger, McMurray, & Truex) 27. Good that Dale Jr didn't have to rely on the fan vote to get in, he was by far the best driver not already qualified for the main event. Dale Jr joins Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart as drivers to have won all four non points events held at Charlotte and Daytona - the All-Star Race, the Showdown/Open, and the Shootout and Duels at Daytona. Burton's silver paint scheme was awesome, but its a shame that he couldn't finish any better. 8th in a heavily watered down field is pretty bad. 30. It's actually more understandable than in a regular race. If you have no shot at a top-2 and aren't top-5 in fan vote, why risk your equipment? Just treat it as a test session. 32. Surprised Bobby Labonte got the fan vote though. Sure he likely has a place in a lot of fans' hearts because he is a good guy, but he really hasn't done anything since 2003 (his last win and top 10 points finish came that year). The 48 may be back. We'll see how he does in the 600. 33. Destroyahirismix666 posted: 05.20.2012 - 10:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I still think that this years vote smells kinda fishy. Looking back, the 2010 vote seems kinda fishy also, when you consider most people hated Edwards for what he had done to Keselowski at Atlanta. 34. 10andJoe posted: 05.20.2012 - 10:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) ^ If they were going to "rig the vote" (and that sound you hear is my eyes rolling) why on God's green earth would they rig it for /Bobby Labonte/? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
