If Biffle can qualify 2nd and be one of the three fastest cars all day throughout Showdown practice/qualifying, then they should be able to be consistently top ten in the same equipment. Seriously, in qualifying they both got beat out by a team whose shop burned down this week (the #95), and they've both been no higher than 9th all day, while Biffle (who I definitely don't think is near the driver he once was) has been one of the two or three best cars, like I said. Obviously Roush's equipment this year is horrendous and they have a long way to go in that department, but I'm starting to wonder just how much worse off they seem as a team with those two in those cars. Seeing how Chris Buescher looked for most of his stint in the #34, and considering how much raw talent Bubba Wallace has, if I was Roush, I'd seriously consider trying them out in those cars for a few races, just as an experiment. They couldn't possibly be any more disappointing than Bayne and Stenhouse have been this year. 5. One will get the hangman's reprieve after the Showdown but at least two of the others are going home early. 6. The last poll thing I saw had both Truex and Danica in front of him (Larson might have been too). So I honestly doubt he gets it. I think Truex will race in, so it'll probably be Danica (and honestly, I really couldn't care less - as long as Truex gets in one way or another, I'll be happy). 13. I know this is just the Showdown, but the other two were top-10." Stenhouse was okay in practice and ran roughly 9th-12th in that first segment (not sure why he finished so far down - if something happened to him, I forget what it was or if Fox even mentioned it). And Trevor was totally pitiful all day and only ended up 8th at the end through pit strategy. At this point, I don't think there's any excuses left for either of them. Stenhouse is in his third year, and has made ZERO progress, bad equipment or not (and like I said earlier, Biffle absolutely ran away with this first segment and looked really good against teams like RCR and MWR, so I have a hard time believing Roush's stuff is as bad as it looks). And as much as I like Trevor and want him to succeed, when you add up all of his time at Wood Brothers and now in the #6, he's almost a VETERAN at this point, and isn't showing himself to be anything other than a Ragan/Gilliland type plate specialist. So like I said, unless Roush wants to keep this stagnation going, I think he should try out Chris Buescher and Bubba Wallace in those cars for a few races just as an experiment. I'm not saying that they would totally light the world on fire and be world beaters, but I don't think they could possibly do any worse than Ricky and Trevor have been doing. 84. Why should they change a rule that has existed for 30 years just because a guy who has run well isn't in the race? You can justify including past years' winners and past years' winners of the all-star race, but including a driver who's running high in points but hasn't won just because he's, at that moment, high in points, is exactly the sort of dilution you're saying is happening.
