According to an article on page 2 of the June 11, 1956 issue of the
Hutchinson News-Herald newspaper, 8,000 people attended the NASCAR
Convertible Series race at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson,
Kansas on June 10, 1956. That same newspaper article also stated that
ninth place finisher Bill Lang was from Syracuse, NY. Those were two
bits of information that are missing from your data.

Frank Mundy had this race won, he would have won by much more than the
margin shown here but on the last lap his car slowed and displayed a lot
of smoke, luckily he was able to coast back to the win

The #33 was in 2nd place, but spun out late in the race and was passed
by both Wood and Welborn who finished less than 50 yards apart
