first nascar race on a paved track(daytona beach was p[art sand part
pavement so that doesnt count)

Also first Grand National win for Ford nameplate. Jimmy Florian passed
Curtis Turner with 35 laps to go and won the race with a flathead
engine. Drivers of overhead valve Oldsmobiles and Plymouths couldn't
believe and it took few hours of post race inspection to declare the
win. Btw. Florian was not wearing a shirt because of hot weather and
after this race NASCAR mandated drivers to wear a shirt.

This was another 200 point race and overall standings after 7 races
looked like this:

Looks like another female driver in this one, making her only
appearance. Ann Slaasted I'm guessing is female.

Gayle Warren was a man. Picture and bio here:

Florian's shirtless victory remained the only one in the series for Ford
through late 1955.

A few drivers protested this win because they did not believe a Flatbed
V8 that Florian drove could turn enough power to win. NASCAR inspected
the car but at around 4AM Jimmy Florian was officially the winner.

start, finishing 7th in a four-year old Ford.

There were most likely some DNF's in this race, but as of 5/13/2020 is
the first NASCAR race chronologically with no DNF's recorded on this
results page.
