Lloyd Moore broke a vertabre while qualifying for this race. Which is
presumably why he didn't run.

This was the first time since race #2 of the 1949 season (Daytona Beach
Course)that a manufacturer had a 1-2-3-4 sweep. The previous time was
also by Oldsmobile.
