The winner of this race earned 300 points - second largest number after
Southern 500. Each position from 1st to 10th dropped 30 points, from
10th to 14th - 6 points. Some minor points were given also to drivers
who finished outside top-14. To match final standings, it looks that
Lloyd Moore earned 3 points in this race.

21 year old Fireball Roberts took the championship lead from 23 year old
Bill Rexford in this race. Fireball had started only 6 of 14 races.

John Schelesky crashed into through the fence into a tunnel entrance
(which'd be just before the main grandstand/pit area/start-finish line
section.) He was seriously injured.

Red Byron competed in AAA Stock Car race the week between Darlington and
this race so he was once again stripped of all his points for the season

Wally Campbell should be listed as "crash", papers state Wally Campbell
had to "crawl" from his crashed car
