First race west of the Mississippi.

Known for Frank Mundy having to hide his car in the shop until dark
because didn't want Perry Smith, his owner, to see he was using whitewalls.

Pretty sure this is a record but only THREE drivers in this race had run
a NASCAR race before this: Marshall Teague (the winner), Johnny Mantz,
and Frank Mundy. And none of those drivers had been in the previous
race, that was only the second ever time that happened in NASCAR history.

Note for visitors: we have found some informations missing and/or
correction until now on the website (car numbers, status...).
Johnny Mantz was relieved by Slick Smith.

Frank Mundy ran this race in a rental car, he waited until after dark to
bring it back so the attendant would not notice how used up the car was.

A copy of the program for this race went up for bids on Ebay and the
entry list page is included in the listing. From that comes this
additional info:

Leo Breithaupt is in car #8, no owner or sponsor listed
Frank Mundy is in car #X
Dudley Froy is in car #28, himself as the owner
George Seeger's sponsor is Esquire Motors

Additional entries listed are as follows but I have no idea if they
actually showed:

Hmm, if George Hicks showed, he might be the only guy to have ever run a
Kaiser in NASCAR competition.

I hope he had the big 161 cid six, and not the little 4-banger.

Fred Bince was the car that flipped in this race, not Weinberg, though
they were involved in the same wreck.
