I believe at this race only four cars were running at the finish, the
fewest of any race held at Martinsville.

Note: bad luck for the race leader... Tim Flock was leading through 18
laps when forced to pits with a flat tire... and Marshall Teague was
leading through 125 laps until he rolled his car in the first turn !

Bob Walters' car was indeed numbered J-6 according to a photo of the car
from the Columbia race.
