I do not know much about this race, but my father bought a 1951 Plymouth
Cranbrook after Lee Petty won it. He owned the car until he passed away
last year, and now it is mine. I would like to see a picture of Lee
Petty's car!

Does anybody know why Jim Delaney was disqualified? Did post race
inspection find something illegal?

@CrewMan73 According to Greg Fielden's book Forty Years of Stock Car
Racing, Delaney was DQ'd for running a non-stock cam shaft. It was a
painful penalty because on the track he finished 2nd to Lee Petty.

Also, reading back through that, 10 out of 23 starters finished. With
Jim Delaney being DQ'd, would that mean that Frank Mundy should be a
'did not start?'
