But at the time it was a yard from the inner line. Moreover in 1952 there was no exterior wall in Martinsville except in front of the main stand of the frontstretch. It's actually pretty interesting if you think about it, because different tracks are different widths so running the inside may be a lot shorter at one track even if its length is the same as another track. 9.
