This was the middle race, South Dakota was the first, and Iowa was the last race. They are also in towns that hardly anyone have heard of (Rapid City, SD, I heard of that...Davenport, IA and Northe Platte, NE, not really). 3. awesomegordonfan posted: 11.12.2010 - 7:01 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ironically, even though the midwest tour was only one race each in the tracks in '53, they are still running races, or at least have track sites. Just go to Tracks and see for yourself...! 4. awesomegordonfan posted: 11.12.2010 - 7:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Oh, and one of the closest finishes in NASCAR history! 6 feet, but probably .1 second, but 6 feet is closer than most races, especially at this time. 5. jr88fan posted: 07.06.2012 - 10:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The best career finishes for C.H. Now anyway. https://www.lincofair.com/ From the pictures on the fair site, that is some pretty serious banking. 11. However Fielden has the name as "City" and NASCAR doesn't seem to have an official race report available to contradict it. 12. Aside from that, I'm always amused that this site puts "Fabulous" as Herb Thomas's sponsor. The sponsor was Hudson (the car company), their slogan was "The Fabulous Hudson Hornet". 14.
