Charlie Merrill driving car 90 from Mobile ala. finished 23 was in the
the top five at the time A front A frame broke related him back to
twenty third place this car was owned by Frank Bielarski also from
Mobile Ala.

First ever race at a mile-and-a-half track. Though I doubt anyone would
call it a "cookie-cutter".

There was a fire in Lee Petty's pit, but apparently he continued,
although one of his pit crew members was burned.

Leland Sewell was injured after his car rolled.

Can anyone remember the owner/builder of this racetrack. I dated this
wonderful Jewish man for a couple of years..he was such a sweet perfect
gentleman. He passed away several years ago. I could probably get in
touch with his daughter if I had his name. thanks to anyone who many
remember.

Buck Baker may not have dominated this race, but he got the win. Of
course, Lee Petty would go on to win the championship, even though he
finished 3rd in this race.

With this many cars, the numbers were pretty hilarious. Number 599 or 485?

Richard Jones finished one lap to finish 52nd in his only career race.

According to Wikipedia, the owners and operators were Clarence Camp,
Harold Woolridge and Nat Epstein.

drove the car in qualifying.
DNQ: Elton Hildreth #1 due to mechanical issue during qualifying
