I assume Herb Thomas was injured in the crash on lap 42. He wouldn't
race again until August 7th at Winston-Salem.

Note: Herb Thomas suffered a fractured leg. Thomas' Buick flipped and
wrecked after he had completed 41 laps.

Herb Thomas flipped his car several times and was actually ejected, as
NASCAR did not require seat belts at the time.

Gene Simpson should be listed as "Crash". He flipped over in an accident.
