Tim Flock wins a race on July 30 in New York, travels across the country the next day and wins again in California. 2. Driver Eliso Bowie (who may actually be named Elias) who finished 28th was African-American. This was his only NASCAR race. http://insiderracingnews.com/Writers/RG/041808.html 4. A driver named Crash Carson can't exit the race with oil pressure problems. He's GOTTA go out with a bang. An original start and parker? 6. Chuck Meekins' #65 Oldsmobile was the first recorded NASCAR entry to be sponsored by Texaco, in this case it looks like it was a local station instead of the brand itself. This was the only time Larry's Texaco Service was recorded as sponsoring a Cup car but Texaco would become an iconic NASCAR sponsor from the late 1980s through the early 2000s. 10.
